Generative AI Program Manager (m/w/d)

Job Description Summary

Job Overview
Assists in creation and validation of the project scope, plan and schedules for complex projects and programs; helps define metrics for project success; selects and applies standards (e.g. delivery process, roles and responsibilities, operational norms, compliance).

Manages the innovative Global GenAI Program, by overseeing program management, projects execution, and teams’ coordination.

Essential Functions

• Assists in creation and validation of the project scope, plan and schedules for complex projects and programs; helps define metrics for project success; selects and applies standards (e.g. delivery process, roles and responsibilities, operational norms, compliance).
• Ensures the correct application of the SCRUM process and that each SCRUM team member has the resources and information needed for success.
• Identifies risks to program success and recommends mitigation plans to management.
• Manages project delivery process, scope, and costs of complex product development projects with limited supervision; drives completion of the project and mentors other team members.
• Establishes relationships with stakeholders to build support and ensures alignment for project outcomes.
• Drives change by identifying impacts of the project, building awareness and support for change within the organization, and contributing to development of training.
• Evaluates project results against success metrics; creates or reengineers processes and resources to improve productivity and end product.
• Coaches the team on Scrum and Agile best practices.

GenAI-related Responsibilities:

• Manages GenAI-specific delivery gates, including solution evaluation and human review, before use-cases are promoted to production.
• Tracks and mitigates GenAI-specific risks, including output accuracy, data privacy, model dependency, and usage cost.
• Partners with security, legal, and compliance teams to ensure use-cases meet applicable data-governance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated program/project management experience delivering software.
• Practical experience and deep understanding of Agile methodologies: Kanban, Scrum, SAFe.
• A high-level, conceptual understanding of Generative AI to engage credibly with engineering and data science teams and to reason about dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.

To successfully manage GenAI-enabled programs, familiarity with the following concepts is expected:

How GenAI and LLMs work:

• High-level understanding of what a large language model (LLM) is and how it works.
• Awareness of what LLMs are good at and their limitations.

What AI agents are:

• Understanding of what an AI agent is.
• Conceptual awareness of how agents are coordinated and supported by harnesses.

Quality, risk, and responsible use:

• Awareness of how GenAI outputs are checked for quality.
• Understanding of the common risks to manage in delivery.
• General awareness of responsible AI principles and relevant data privacy and AI regulations.
