Frank’s why: Driving impact through innovation at IQVIA

Frank Krul explains how making a positive impact on the world around him keeps him motivated and inspired at IQVIA.

When you ask Frank Krul, associate director of Advanced Artificial Intelligence Systems, why he works at IQVIA, his answer is simple, but powerful:

“Working at IQVIA is something that, ethically, is very important,” he said. “The work we're doing is good for the world. We're making sure that people are healthy, people are safe and their data is safe. As I’ve gotten older, delivering a net positive in the world is more important to me.”

Frank’s passion for patient impact is something you will find throughout IQVIA. It’s woven into our culture and embedded in everything we do, driving us to create solutions that build a healthier world for everyone, everywhere.

Frank works with Privacy Analytics, an IQVIA company dedicated to helping organizations safely unlock insights from sensitive personal data while maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy. Over the past two years, Frank and his team have helped take this mission to the next level by creating a standardized, cloud-based platform that enables organizations to anonymize data with consistency and control.

Recently, his team deployed the platform across a major national health system, securely integrating data that was previously siloed. This breakthrough allows clinicians to manage patient care more efficiently, reducing the need to log into multiple systems and enabling faster, better-informed decisions. Today, the platform supports critical functions like population health planning, care coordination and optimization of hospital beds and operating facilities — all while keeping sensitive patient data safe and secure.

This work earned IQVIA an Innovative Practices Award at the recent BIO-IT World Conference and Expo, recognizing the team’s ability to advance healthcare while safeguarding privacy. It was also tapped for an IQVIA CEO Team Award, given to IQVIA’s top-performing teams at the discretion of our executive leadership. For Frank, the recognition matters, but the real reward is knowing the impact reaches patients and providers every day.

“Drawing the association between your daily work and a direct patient impact is extremely important to us at Privacy Analytics,” Frank said.
