IQVIA has recently been awarded a 5-year full-service contract with a "Preferred Customer". There is an immediate requirement for a VP role to implement and lead the "Preferred Customer" portfolio, coupled with associated expectations for revenue growth and EBITDA improvement, as well as effective delivery to drive customer satisfaction.

Lead and oversee the execution of clinical projects and research studies within the "Preferred Customer" portfolio in accordance with global and local regulations to best meet customer needs, whilst working toward organisational goals and strategies. Full accountability for successful project and program delivery, including developing plans to ensure the allocation of human, material, system and fiscal resources. Determine strategic goals and objectives for the group and ensure operational alignment with senior management priorities. Lead and direct functional strategic initiatives and partner with key stakeholders to develop implementation plans. 

Key strategic responsibilities include:


  • Overall accountability for delivery of portfolio
  • Ensure all delivery management processes are followed, e.g. MPR, SGR, IPMP
  • Effective risk identification and mitigation across the portfolio
  • Issue identification, management and resolution

TDU Leadership/Management

  • Ensure effective financial management of portfolio performance
  • Strong focus on productivity for all total project and delivery unit (EBITDA & EAC index management)
  • Effective communication in collaboration with customer and identified stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate delivery unit resource supply/demand balancing inclusive of talent attraction, talent placement, on-boarding and training
  • Partner with non-delivery unit functions, e.g. SM, DSSR to ensure adequacy of resourcing
  • Manage to L3 unit metrics (delivery, financial, customer, growth, quality, strategy)
  • Understand and ensure delivery against commercial frameworks and contractual obligations
  • Prioritize development of employees for career progression and strategic & corporate goals


  • Collaborate with the account team to ensure adequacy of partnership processes.  Proactively identify processes suitable for improvement/optimization and leverages lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
  • Identify, agree, monitor and act on KPI/KQIs
  • Review, contribute and maintain customer operations charter/manual
  • Participate in customer governance meetings and effectively manages relationship with key customer stakeholders
  • Establish key partnership behaviors and lead by example


  • Ensure leading KQIs are identified, monitored and acted on
  • Plan for timely QI identification and CAPA development and implementation
  • Completion of monthly quality review to identify pan portfolio/therapeutic area/asset themes that require action


  • Participate in pipeline review to enable effective unit evolution and planning
  • Support customer in regulatory, partnership activities where requested
  • Ensure customer is kept appraised on IQVIA offering development and ensures understanding of evolving customer strategy and how that may impact future delivery needs
  • Ensure delivery unit evolves in line with/ahead of customer evolving needs/business volumes

Requires an experienced clinical operations leader, with greater than 10 years of relevant experience in GCP and drug development knowledge.  Experience and knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with operational and strategic experience.  Demonstrable people leadership skills coupled with the ability to motivate teams and lead by example.  Leading in a complex environment, whilst being flexible and agile to changing needs are critical success factors.

Strong customer management skills; active listening, assertive communication, ability to compromise, influence and achieve win-win outcomes.  An ability to think/act strategically, establishing a vision, execution and adjustment.

High degree of business acumen, coupled with the ability to drive productivity and achieve financial goals, whilst quality & delivery is maintained.  Drive innovation, process improvement and adoption of innovative technologies as part of Core.
