We are looking for a talented Technical Implementation Consultant with strong technical and customer facing skills to take a primary role in our customer support and professional services operations, covering the US and Europe.

Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, you will join a highly experienced team and embark on a journey towards becoming a subject matter expert on our products. You will use your excellent communication skills, proactive attitude and expertise to enable researchers to use the power of our products to advance scientific knowledge.

You will become an internal subject matter expert, assisting customers in their use of Linguamatics’ products, and providing insight to other teams, joining customer calls advising on system architecture, installation and configuration, optimization and performance.

You will be organized, efficient and practical with a knack for identifying patterns, enjoy solving puzzles and be passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

Your typical day:

  • You will design, implement, deploy and support solutions to complex NLP problems faced by Linguamatics customers, leveraging technologies built within Linguamatics development teams and any appropriate third-party applications
  • Be the single point of contact with customers, working through our support tracking system to ensure end-to-end issue resolution, engaging with other teams where necessary
  • Carry out independent research to find technical solutions to reported issues and where a solution cannot be identified, work closely with other teams to report bugs, escalate as appropriate or find suitable workarounds
  • Support software installations, configuration and maintenance for our customers both on-premise and in the Cloud
  • Development of technical resources, such as scripts, self-help blog posts and knowledge base articles

Our ideal candidate:

Experienced in the software/IT industry having successfully delivered/supported solutions for customers, plus the following attributes;

  • Deeply technical with strong experience configuring and administering Linux and/or Windows Servers in Physical, Virtual or Cloud platforms
  • Experience using, managing and troubleshooting RESTful Web Services
  • Track record implementing reliable, complex, secure, high performance and scalable solutions from development to production
  • DevOps mindset
  • Experience working within a customer facing technical team up to 3rd line
  • Deep understanding of system/deployment architecture concepts, including:
    • Virtualisation & containerisation, e.g. Openstack, Docker
    • Automation and Orchestration, e.g. Ansible, Kubernetes
    • Application Security
    • Cloud services, particularly AWS
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to drive things forward on your own
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure

Bonus points for:

  • Deploying and managing AWS solutions (certification is ideal)
  • Comprehensive Linux experience (deployment, configuring, managing)
  • Configuration management (E.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Configuration of authentication systems (LDAP, AD, SSO)
  • Configuration of SSL and PKI
  • Web server and proxy configuration
  • HTML / CSS / XML / JavaScript / JSON / CSV
  • Ideally at least 1 programming language, preferably Python or Java.
