Strategic Planning Internship

Q2 Solutions is a leading global clinical trials laboratory services organization formed as a Joint Venture between IQVIA (formerly Quintiles), and Quest Diagnostics. We help biopharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostics customers develop innovative medicines to address unmet medical needs. 
This is a unique opportunity to work with the Strategy team at Q2 Solutions supporting strategic planning activities, specifically supporting prioritization of an M&A pipeline.  You will help by providing insights and recommendations based on analysis and assessments of existing and potential markets, competitor landscape, and trends.  Our focus is on our Genomics and Bioanalytical, as well as innovating clinical trial technologies. In this internship you will work with two programs:
 
• Scan of clinical trial technology companies for the purposes of M&A
• Development of investment case in innovative technologies to drive execution of clinical trials in Oncology

Key responsibilities will include:
 
• Conduct analysis to support market sizing and business opportunity assessment.
• Conducting research and analysis of competitors and glean insights to support business strategy.
• Conducting financial and business analysis supporting development of business cases

Job Requirements

• Pursuing and advanced degree in life sciences, engineering, or finance (business).  MBA preferred
• Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher 
• Prefer experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries (CRO specific background highly preferred)
• Prefer 1 year of relevant business experience in corporate strategy, marketing or finance, or other comparable combination of education, training and experience.
• Strong financial and analytical skills. 
• Ability to articulate with strong presentation skills, excellent written communication abilities and contribute to executive-level discourse.
• Orientation towards constantly seeking new knowledge; a quick study on new topics.
• Positive approach to quality of work.
• High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) is essential.
