The Finance organization has an exciting opportunity available for a Director, Strategic Finance Operations role to join the Finance leadership team.  The dynamic and ambitious individual selected for this role will have the opportunity to learn about the multi-faceted Finance function, as well as work directly with the CFO on various initiatives. This person will be a key member of the FP&A team and a strategic partner to the CFO. This is an opportunity to be actively involved in shaping strategy, managing Finance operations and enhancing the efficiency of the Finance function and the operational efficiency of the company. The role reports directly to Michael McDonnell, EVP and Chief Financial Officer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Promote operational excellence within the Finance organization by identifying opportunities to create efficiency, remove obstacles, and outline high-impact opportunities
  • Coordinate, orchestrate, and manage special projects and initiatives involving the SVP, FP&A and the CFO
  • Assist CFO with prioritization and calendar management
  • Track all key CFO and Finance priorities and outstanding deliverables
  • Streamline processes and ensure prioritization with various stakeholders on projects and commitments
  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of all CFO meetings, including regular internal meetings, Finance Council and all hands meetings. Prepare agenda and materials for the meetings, organize all meeting materials, verify participants, capture minutes, track and follow up on action items and prepare regular reports
  • Drafting of internal and external correspondence and manage most of the CFO communications
  • Help drive Finance team’s budget vs actual performance
  • Manage corporate approvals: expense reports, CARS, payment term exceptions
  • Oversee Talent Management process including organizing feedback from CFO’s direct reports, goal setting, objectives and accomplishments
  • Creation of presentations – analyzing data, determining how best to present the information succinctly, and creating the slides
  • Establishing excellent working relationships with the Finance leadership team
  • Coordinating and working with CFO and SVP FP&A on presentations for Board and various external constituents and working cross-functionally to determine appropriate content, messaging and presentation
  • Coordination between Corporate Finance and various business units on a variety of financial initiatives.
  • Partner with finance leadership team to brainstorm, deliver, and track Finance initiatives
  • Identify finance systems enhancements based on feedback from finance teams and partner with FP&A systems team to implement
  • Ad-hoc analysis and decision support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in Finance and Business Operations, Project Management, Consulting or Strategy
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • IQVIA acumen– organizational structure, systems and ways of working
  • Have a strategic mindset, as well as strong critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills
  • Knowledge of business and management principles - including planning process, review, coordination of people and resource and operational success measures
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to manage resources and multiple projects simultaneously under pressure and within deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication/relationship building skills
  • Have the presence and credibility to engage and influence senior leaders across multi-geographies and functions
  • Very strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
