Statistician - the role:

As a Statistician with IQVIA’s Statistical Services Group, you’ll be responsible for supporting the design and development of new commercial offerings and the enhancement of existing offerings. This includes syndicated offerings sold to many customers as well as consulting projects tailored to meet the business needs of a specific client.  Your responsibilities will include:


  • Under limited supervision, independently provides statistical programming and methodology support in the development and delivery of standard or custom studies. 15%
  • Conducts statistical programming, develops and applies statistical design and methodology to meet client information needs. 25%
  • Conducts statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the study, and delivers regular summary reports for clients or core processes. 25%
  • Works as part of a team in preparing analysis plans and statistical reports and performs validation of statistical analysis. 15%
  • Works on projects of middle level scope within defined procedures and practices, or be able to leverage existing procedure/method to develop analytical method for ad hoc requests. 15%
  • Identifying opportunities and participating in activities related to personal development.  5%

  • Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong statistical programming skills as well as general programming skills involving large, relational data assets
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including presentations, technical specifications, and general communications
  • Capability in juggling priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistently high quality outcomes
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries is desirable but not required

Qualifications & Other Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalently, Bachelor’s degree with up to two (2) years of experience in Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative science field in operations research, market research, or applied statistics
  • Prior experience in the healthcare and life science industries is preferred
  • Fundamental Statistical knowledge includes regression, hypothesis testing, sampling methods, and multivariate statistics is required
  • Adaptability and an ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge
  • Excellent conversational and business English (written and oral); additional languages an advantage
  • Solid logical thinking, skills in a structured programming language, and applied experience in SAS and/or other statistical programming is preferred
  • A willingness and ability to travel
