IQVIA is looking for a Data Analyst / Programmer

Join the Centre of Excellence for Retrospective Studies to help us deliver high quality scientific research to our clients in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.  

Our goal is to contribute to the body of scientific evidence that allows medical practitioners to treat patients in the most effective way, and health systems to include as many patients as possible. We use data, collected for clinical (and other) purposes to answer research questions such as "which treatment works best in the real world, beyond the clinical trial setting?" Role Purpose
This role will offer you a unique opportunity to work on a novel, large, clinically rich data set in oncology working as a key member of a small, dedicated team. This opportunity arises as a consequence of a partnership between IQVIA and the healthcare data owners: the context for your work will be the cross-over between the IQVIA RWI team, the oncology centre and the applications of RWD for life sciences clients. The purpose of this role is to execute on a broad set of interesting analytical and statistical questions that are related to the value of medicines and other interventions and measuring their impact on patient outcomes, which will need to be answered using SAS or R software.    

Primary Responsibilities:
•    Extract, explore, clean, prepare, analyse and report real-world data according to statistical analysis plans (SAPs)
•    Develop programming specifications and output documents
•    Contribute to data source selection and management, analytical and statistical design to meet study objectives
•    Implement quality control procedures
•    Produce and present results of data and statistical analysis 
•    Contribute to improving operational efficiencies of workflows, including writing of internal guidance documents (e.g., SOPs and quality management documents)
•    Assist in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts and/or presentations to conferences 

Requirements
•    Bachelor level degree from accredited university
•    Strong/expert SAS programming or R skills 
•    Proven experience working with large, complex, real-world data sets
•    Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines
•    Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills 
•    Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualities 
•    Experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective database studies
•    Prior experience working in a consultancy or other service sector in the healthcare industry
