Statistical Epidemiologist

France

IQVIA Real World Insights (RWI)


IQVIA is leading the development of a new business service, the foundation for which is a pan-European infrastructure to collect, aggregate and report on healthcare and pharmaceutical product use at a patient level. IQVIA will be working with healthcare providers on this new RWI initiative in order to develop access to, codify, combine and subsequently structure for analysis patient-level data sources across multiple healthcare providers in several European countries.


Principal Responsibilities


As Statistical Epidemiologist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to all stages of retrospective database studies, including:


  • Lead and/or manage the execution, analysis and reporting of epidemiological studies
  • Managing the scope of client projects
  • Lead and/or contribute to the writing of study protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and study reports
  • Write SAPs, specifying table shells and figures required
  • Serve as methodological expert with clients to provide guidance on design and analysis of observational studies
  • Review and analyze client requirements, research questions or problems in order to deliver optimal solutions to meet their needs
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposal development and client relationship building
  • Independently manage assigned projects developing project outlines, scheduling interim deliverables and meeting final delivery dates
  • Develop and prepare abstracts, manuscripts and/or presentations to conferences for internal and external projects
  • Present insights and perspectives to clients, internal training courses and conference presentations
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiencies of workflows, including writing of SOPs and quality management documents

Requirements:


  • MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, statistics, or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate work experience in research environment after PhD or MPH/MSc
  • Experience in designing and executing prospective or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses
  • Good understanding and previous experience with utilizing large-scale anonymous patient level retrospective healthcare databases populated with EMR data such as the CPRD or THIN
  • Willingness and desire to work in a wide variety of projects in real-world evidence (e.g. designing studies, identifying new sources of data, and conducting literature reviews)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to meet short deadlines with high quality deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation and PowerPoint skills)
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
  • Ability to effectively manage and juggle between multiple tasks and projects under tight timelines
  • A commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with others in the team and across other teams to accomplish goals

Preferred qualities:


  • Strong statistical programming skills in a statistical package
  • Proven experience working with large, individual-level data sets
  • Prior experience working in a consultancy, CRO or other service sector in the healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of real-world data needs of pharmaceutical clients
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals and abstracts in scientific conferences

The incumbent will be based on site in France.
