Technology Solutions division of IQVIA develops and markets healthcare-focused enterprise software applications including Master Data Management, CRM, Multi-channel Marketing, Content Management, Social and Compliance solutions.  The Digital Office leads the transformation of the Technology Solutions product portfolio and is developing a cloud-based Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence platform bringing a layer of intelligent services to Technology Solutions’ software offering called “Ada”. Ada’s services use machine learning, natural language processing and deep learning techniques as appropriate, and relies on a big data layer. 

Role Purpose:

The Ada devOps engineer plays a pivotal role the delivery of this AI/ML platform. In this role, you will be responsible for the container-based architecture and infrastructure, as well as the automation of its deployment. You will collaborate with a team of data engineers and data scientists to define the data architecture, and software developers to build the infrastructure. The ideal candidate is able to see big picture strategy while maintaining product roadmaps and customer deliverables to evolve new and exciting technology.

Principal Accountabilities:

•     Design, implement, manage and build Docker and Kubernetes infrastructure

•     Design, implement manage networking and configuration of Docker and Kubernetes infrastructure

•     Design new strategies for optimizing all aspects of CI-CD pipelines using the latest techniques and technologies using modern DevOps Technologies

•     Must be able to innovate new solutions while integrating solutions with existing platforms 

•     Collaboratively develop features that would enable integration with other IQVIA products, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing and deployment

•     Participate with the engineering and development teams to define plans for standardizing, scaling and enhancing our products and services. 

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

•     1+ years of relevant work experience in Kubernetes or related

•    Familiarity with cloud engineering, terraform and ansible are required

•    Familiarity with linux system administration and BASH

•    Working knowledge of python is a must

•     Experience as a software engineer; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks

•     Experience developing data-driven applications a plus

•     A strong passion for getting things done, solving real problems, and learning new things

•    Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

•    Experience in Agile Collaboration platforms (preferably Jira and Confluence)

Ideal Skills – Devops

  • AWS Experience – preferably with VPC, Route53, EC2, S3, IAM, ECR, ACM, and RDS as well as KOPS AWS Kubernetes solution.  Other cloud infrastructure experience a plus
  • Bytecode Repositories (Docker, Helm, PyPi)
  • Kubernetes.  Key projects like Helm, Prometheus, Graphana. Kubernetes HA and scaling solutions. Ingress, K8s security,  Development of Operational processes in K8s ecosystem.
  • CI/CD experience – specifically with Gitlab CI/CD and Jenkins
  • Skills related to Enterprise Runtime Operations like Monitoring, Notifications, Log Aggregation in Cloud and Kubernetes Environment.  Splunk, ElasticSearch, Fluentd
