Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Sr Data Warehouse Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing and debugging of applications in a data warehouse related environment. The Sr Data Warehouse Enginn is also responsible for the documentation of new custom solutions and for their successful move to production.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participates in conducting analysis, design, and implementation of applications in a data warehouse environment to meet specified design requirements and specifications, the role involves Offshore Communications.
  • Investigates standard systems applications, conduct analysis of system specifications and program coding
  • Translates applications design specifications into software applications
  • Participates in the preparation of detailed systems design specifications to meet defined requirements
  • Perform unit testing and full systems testing, ensuring results meet customer requirements
  • Prepare application(s) for release through the change control process
  • Coordinate activities with team members for successful transition of application to the “delivery” team

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of academic field(s) or discipline(s):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience.
  • Incumbent possesses and has demonstrated specialized systems and programming knowledge with 3 - 5 years’ experience in systems analysis, design and application programming.

Technical Skills:


Mandatory qualifications:

Solid Design, development and implementation of DW/BI Solutions. Extensive database experience. Extensive Data Warehouse ETL & ELT experience. Extensive Knowledge on Developing Aggregations, KPIs, Measures, Partitions and Data Mining Models. Strong Relational Data Base experience (Oracle 11g & 12c). Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and Performance tuning. Strong BI development skills ie tools ( Tableau, QlikSense, Power BI).

Nice to have experience:

Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud. Big data technologies like Redshift, Hadoop Spark and/or Google Big query. Predictive Analysis and Machine Learning

Other specific knowledge/ key competencies:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Effective time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Strong ability to work autonomously in achieving high impact quality solutions. Self-starter attitude with ability to adapt quickly to changing environment.
