The Information Center of Excellence at IQVIA seeks a Data Scientist to join its team of talented Data Engineers and Analytics Developers.  Located in Cambridge, MA, we partner with consulting colleagues, product managers, and developers globally to create scalable and industry-shaping data offerings.

Our syndicated solutions are used by external clients along with multiple business units in IQVIA who seek to understand the impact of cost and restrictions on patient access to their medicine and on their product performance.  We are constantly expanding our offerings, working with clients to identify new opportunities to drive business decisions using innovative data offerings.

Given our ever-increasing pipeline of projects and solutions, we are looking for a Data Scientist to drive further innovation by incorporating statistical modeling, causal inference, and other techniques into our syndicated offerings.  You will have the opportunity to exercise creativity in problem solving by delivering inventive new solutions within our data ecosystem. Responsibilities

  • Help define and drive roadmap for delivery of analytics-based offerings to IQVIA customers
  • Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve moderately complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses
  • Identify, implement, and drive adoption of analytics-based solutions that enhance data assets developed by the ICoE and leveraged across IQVIA
  • Innovate new ways data science can be used to support the ICoE and its mission
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to ensure proper model hosting and deployment

Qualifications

  • BA in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Physics
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Experience with Spark and HDFS a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data models and the statistics and probability theory behind them to non-technical audience
  • Deep understanding of statistics and probability
  • Proficiency in several areas of data modeling, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analysis
  • Creative energy and a sense of humor
  • Ability to work with large datasets from multiple sources
  • Experience with healthcare/pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • Experience with JIRA / Confluence, GIT, and Linux a plus
