Job Description

Role Purpose:

Supports business development, by providing solutions to the supplier’s business needs that fall outside of the standard delivery offerings. The custom deliverables are run on multiple operating systems (mainframe and Unix/Linux). Critical to the success of these deliverables is a thorough understanding of not only the technical aspects of producing the reports but the associated analytical, database(s), and organizational skillsets for assessing and implementing key customer requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:

Multi-skilled solutions architect, using different technologies to substantially increase decision-making accuracy, automations and deliver quality solutions that solves complex business problems. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Conducts a full range of programming tasks including design, coding, debugging and documentation for a wide variety of software/systems programs. Acts as a team leader for projects with moderate budgets or of a short to intermediate duration. Provides technical direction to lower level programming staff members.

Self-motivated individual who can take ownership of tasks. Including:

  • Responsible for creating, reviewing and delivering the planned data extracts for suppliers.     
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes.
  • Work with business teams to identify and implement data confidentiality and quality check rules.
  • Design and develop custom solutions for data delivery to IQVIA suppliers by using source data from various IQVIA products/services
  • Combine IQVIA Data with client or third-party data as required.
  • Define and create validation reports for data accuracy.
  • Ability to work through data investigations: perform independent research, identify and document findings/resolutions
  • Coordinate with offshore delivery team on all build and solutioning activities.
  • Provide support to client facing teams, including direct client contact to assist
  • in deliverable design and specification.
  • Performs ongoing analysis and evaluation of existing processes with the
  • objective of providing continuous improvements.

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of five (5) years experience, ideally in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Knowledge of:

  • 5+ years development experience with solid knowledge of:
  • Mainframe systems
  • CICS, TSO/SPF.
  • Mainframe programming languages
  • Cobol, SAS, WPS, REXX, CList, DB2, SyncSort, JCL/Procedure.
  • Unix/Linux platform OS
  • Automation/Scheduling (Endevor, Cybermation).
  • Extensive IQVIA core data knowledge/expertise (minimum 3 years), specifically with DDD and Xponent data.
  • Strong use of related business technology including MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
  • 3+ Years of Project and Task Management
  • IQVIA Development experience, a plus, including:
  • Internal common master files.
  • Internal applications (e.g. PGT, CREATE, CDS ONLINE, DDINSIGHT, RXINSIGHT).
  • Internal data extraction system (OLP).
  • Delivery systems (ORS, File Express)

Additional Requirements:

  • Technically proficient team player/builder with diverse experience in developing collaborative solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience with IQVIA software development lifecycle, project delivery management.
  • Must be flexible to work off hours to support off-shore programming team.
  • Strong time management skills – must be able to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple priorities.
  • Strong management skills – capable of leading and motivating individuals to maximize productivity while forming cohesive team environments.
  • Effective communicator – interpersonal, liaison and negotiating skills with leadership capabilities.
  • Detailed documenter of processes and tasks.
  • Existing skillset/experience to be part of Succession plan.
  • Capable of producing projects across the IT services value chain, including Solutions Architecture, Design and Development, Delivery and Project Management and Change Control Product and Implementation.
