Role Summary

As a software developer in a growing team you will be playing a key part in developing solutions used by the NHS to identify improvements in patient care.

The role will involve the design and development of a class-leading Costing Engine used to support IQVIA’s Patient Level Costing and Information System (PLICS) used by over 70 NHS Trusts.

Working within the Healthcare Team and reporting to a Project Lead you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting a unique software solution and become part of an established and experienced development team.
  • Produce Code – that is supportable, maintainable, testable and documented.
  • Develop new capabilities that strengthen and increase the already rich feature set.
  • Interact internally with different teams to provide product support and help define new functional requirements.
  • Work with testers to develop a strong, secure and error free function.
  • Support the resolution of product issues and work with a variety of technologies.
  • Pick new concepts up quickly and be happy learning new things and thinking in new ways

Skills, Education and Experience Required

  • You will have worked with .NET 4.5+ and C# as your primary language on complex and interesting systems.
  • Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles and software design patterns.
  • Use of .NET technologies including, WPF, MVC and WinForms.
  • Experience of ETL methodologies and TSQL with Microsoft SQL Server 20082 R2 onwards.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to contribute ideas effectively amongst internal teams.
  • Good time management skills, attention to detail and a proven ability in prioritising tasks.
  • Ability to understand requirements and translate in to software solutions.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of database administration with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 onwards.
  • Experience with .NET MVC, WPF and MVVM.
  • Experience of optimising TSQL and stored procedures.
  • Front end design and implementation.
  • Experience using and working with large XML data files.
  • Aware of CI/CD pipelines and scripting technologies such as Power shell.
  • Software design with the ability to join dots as well as implementing and identifying improvements without creating technical debt
