We are currently looking for a qualified, experienced Senior Director, Sales, whose purpose is to direct Medical Sales operations to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and employees are trained and developed to meet both customer and company goals. The Senior Director must develop and implement overall strategy for business unit or region, including identification and pull through of business development opportunities and ensure operational alignment with senior management priorities. They must also initiate and lead strategic initiatives and work with other functional management to develop implementation plans.
  • Manage staff and managers in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
  • Approve actions on human resources matters in consultation with Human Resources and other relevant departments.
  • Direct the hiring and selection process for Medical Sales staff by conducting candidate review through participation in the interviewing process. Establish methods to develop and evaluate office / region based on boarding processes.
  • Develop standard processes to ensure that staff has the proper materials, systems access and training to complete job responsibilities. Oversee the execution of the training plan and mentored training experiences for a region / office / country. Act as a coach and mentor for managers.
  • Work collaboratively with customers and other functional leadership to manage customer related challenges to achieve exemplary customer service.
  • Negotiate and manage the yearly budget (turnover and operating income) and ensure appropriate financial controls and processes are in place to maximize revenue and effectively manage costs.
  • Develop effective pricing and delivery strategies in order to deliver customer requirements in a profitable manner.
  • Work with senior colleagues to identify, develop and implement strategic initiatives and new products for the IQVIA service portfolio.
  • Meet with customers, deliver presentations, initiate the preparation of proposals, communicate proposals to customers and negotiate with customers to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Work cross functionally to deliver and drive operational excellence for both customer and business requirements.
  • Liaise with appropriate company support functions to achieve new business targets and operational delivery.
  • Ensure achievement of customer satisfaction targets and key performance indicators for projects and team.
  • Work with Business Development to strengthen relationships with existing clients and generate awareness on prospects.
  • Ensure the reporting of any identified Adverse Events in line with prevailing process and guidelines.
  • Project a professional impression of the Company and act in accordance with the relevant Pharmaceutical Industry's Code of Practice
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related field with 15 years commercial experience including 7 years line management experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Pharma Industry is required.
  • Preferred- current understanding of IES service offerings.
  • Preferred- current IES working relationship within the Janssen account.
  • Preferred Location- PA, NJ area.
  • Understanding of the wider work of IQVIA including business development.
  • Understanding of economic environment in which the organization is operating.
  • Fluency in software operating systems, such as MS Office and customer relationship management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and financial management skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
