Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Medical and Patient Communications, this global role is accountable for overall strategy and growth for our Medical and Patient Communications Scientific Communications Practice Area.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Scientific Communications Practice strategy, growth and excellence, driving our ambitious Medical Affairs growth strategy
  • Member of MPC Management Team to represent views of the Practice; take a leading role within IQVIA and externally to lead visibility and thought leadership for Scientific Communications services
  • Ensuring a continuously innovative, differentiated overall proposition for the Practice Area, collaborating with Product and Strategy to develop and execute a  differentiated and winning service proposition to drive growth
  • Collaborating on roadmap for Practice Area Services – identifying new client needs and evolution and innovation of existing services
  • Driving financial growth of Practice Area, owning the Practice NNB and revenue targets, collaborating with Account Management and BD to drive organic, land and expand and Net New business through the right strategies and contributing to optimal profitability by supporting Operational excellence
  • Ensuring growth of Practice across current and future MPC geographies, responsible for identification and qualification of Service expansion into new geographies, and business case development for expansion as appropriate
  • Consulting on potential inorganic growth strategies for the Practice
  • Maintaining senior level client relationships for key companies / accounts; acting as senior oversight / sponsor to key growth accounts
  • With BD, actively participate in / lead as appropriate, MSA and procurement discussions to expand portfolio of clients
  • Maintaining quality and effectiveness of Practice service delivery through close liaison with Operations and Account Management leaders
  • Devising Practice-specific training progamme to ensure efficiency and consistency for core services

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and growing Scientific Communications / Medical Affairs services globally
  • Excellent experience in leading agency teams to deliver exceptional client service and growth
  • Business development expertise and active experience
  • Excellent understanding of biopharmaceutical lifecycle strategy as it pertains to Scientific and wider Medical Communications
  • Proven expertise in developing, selling and delivering Scientific Communications services including Scientific Narrative development, Medical Strategic planning, Publications Planning and Execution, MSL optimisation and Medical Information
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively through others in a global environment to deliver results
  • Effective leadership skills in a matrix environment with proven people management skills
  • Demonstrated track record of proactive risk management, using key metrics and performance data
  • Good strategic thinking ability and ability to apply organizationally
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated track record of good judgment and decision making skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Location

  • This position can be hybrid/remote. Candidates must be based in the UK. The successful candidate should be willing to come to our Reading office for meetings when required and will be expected to visit clients.
