The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for the ultimate quality and integrity of all production software products developed by the OCT group and made available to customers.  The QA Manager owns all software quality assurance processes, working directly with the Product Management group and managing a QA team primarily comprised of external resources.  This is accomplished by:

• Managing a group of external QA resources and contracted QA organizations capable of providing the requisite levels of service, and ensuring that high quality standards are maintained at all times;
• Augmenting the core group of QA resources with internal and external personnel as required;
• Acting as the final gatekeeper prior to the release of any new product version, ensuring that well-defined quality standards are met or exceeded with supporting metrics to quantify the level of quality achieved;
• Overseeing the development and correct execution of test cases, as well as general usability testing and validation;
• Managing the creation of test plans and test cases from feature descriptions and user stories created by Product Management, as well as discussions with Developers;
• Driving the maximum possible adoption of automation in all QA processes, encompassing early script development and validation as well as robust automated regression testing procedures;
• Ensuring the correct execution of manual and automated test cases, analyzing results, reporting and tracking defects, verifying fixes and performing follow-up work to resolve issues;
• Ensuring the proper setup, configuration, and maintenance of test environments;
• Tracking and analyzing support and field regression data to identify new opportunities for quality improvement, and codifying the policies and procedures necessary to ensure high quality releases.

We'd like to see:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant QA experience in a commercial software company with distributed (internal and external) QA resources;
• A minimum of 3 years as a QA lead in a commercial software company;
• Comprehensive understanding of test automation, scripting, regression testing and commonly used tools;
• Comprehensive understanding of software release processes, particularly Agile methodologies;
• A proven track record as a highly self-motivated top performer;
• A working style that is detail-oriented, coupled with strong organizational skills;
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills;
• A proven history of success, demonstrating a strong customer and quality focus.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
 
• Previous work involving engagement, management, or collaboration with external QA service providers;
• Good working knowledge of multi-tenant SaaS environments;
• Good working knowledge of various web-based platforms and technologies at the level of an intermediate developer;
• Good working knowledge of the SalesForce platform, particularly as a foundation for new software applications.
