The Director IT Procurement is responsible for purchasing of software and/or hardware at optimal pricing, spend analytics, developing and implementing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, policies and processes of IT commodities. We are looking for a Director level professional to lead all aspects of strategic sourcing from supplier selection to enterprise wide negotiations of IT commodities, conducting supplier management activities and manage a team for tactical execution of the end-to-end procurement process. Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of enterprise needs, relevant industries and best practices for strategic sourcing is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and execute IT procurement strategies
  • Perform strategic sourcing and spend analytics for IT Commodities to reduce costs                                                                                                                             
  • Perform market research on assigned IT categories and IT commodities
  • Identify qualified IT suppliers for participation in sourcing events
  • Lead contract negotiations using a variety of techniques, including multi-round competitive bidding, RFx processes
  • Manage and facilitate cross-functional teams in the pursuit of several IT procurement categories
  • Maintain the highest degree of ethical standards and adherence to procurement policies
  • Monitor significant developments among IT suppliers, including financial results, management turnover and product line strategies
  • Provide training and tools to business users and internal customers to support these procurement processes
  • Provide management and administrative support for technology tools that support the supplier and contract management processes
  • Network externally to facilitate competitive intelligence, including best practices, emerging/potential sources of competitive advantage, market pricing, etc.
  • Work with internal customers and business units to formulate short to long-term IT sourcing strategies for external suppliers/service providers
  • Develop effective working relationships with key decision makers/influencers; line of business executives, and subject matter experts
  • Monitor supplier compliance with established agreements. This includes monitoring service levels, outages or other unusual events, customer satisfaction levels and supplier responsiveness. Also includes reviewing the accuracy and timeliness of invoices and payment
  • Monitor compliance with established agreements. This includes adherence to contracts terms, meeting requirements for self-audit and true-ups
  • Track and report savings for assigned categories
  • Analyze procurement processes for inefficiencies
  • Analyze procurement policies for gaps and ineffectiveness
  • Make recommendations regarding opportunities for improvement
  • Lead, partner, or consult on implementing sanctioned changes
  • Take advantage of opportunities to increase utilization of enterprise wide agreements including demand management
  • Manage transactional team to execute and track negotiated contracts throughout the lifecycle of the IT commodity
  • Prioritize own work activities based on input from internal customers and IT Procurement management
  • Communicate regularly with the head of IT Procurement to provide progress, savings updates and coordinate initiatives
  • Report to the head of IT Procurement

Requirements

BS degree/certification in Supply Chain Management

Professional background in purchasing and procurement of IT goods and services

5+ years of work experience with at least 3 years managing a team

Understanding of principles of accounting including the ability to read and analyze financial statements of suppliers

Superior interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills

Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage teams

Excellent leadership presentation and influencing skills at both executive and peer level

Desire to succeed in a data-driven, fast changing and dynamic environment
