As this position will support a US based Client the hours for UK candidates will be 12noon to 8pm Monday to Friday

PURPOSE

Responsible for the assigned global client programs, including the development and implementation of the strategic and tactical plan for the programs, together with Project Services management and/or  Operational Client Lead (OCL). Provide day-to-day direction to the project management delivery teams for an assigned set of studies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and procedures for the client programs. Provide direction to Project Services team members and support, mentor and guide team to successfully achieve their client study deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the assigned global client program(s), including development of operational processes and high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop best practices and standardization for the studies within the program and work closely with the Operational Client lead, the client, the global management team and delivery teams to ensure ongoing success for the client programs and customer relationship.
  • This position involves extensive mentoring and guiding professional development of staff for assigned client programs and may include directing study assignments in conjunction with Line Manager.
  • Develop and encourage a culture of delivering “best-in-industry” customer service by ensuring rapid identification of issues and problems and ensuring timely communication of resolution outcomes to both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that studies are planned and executed within FDA, ICH, and EMEA guidelines and that Good Clinical Practices are followed at all times.
  • Provide metrics to Project Services management and OCL related to productivity, quality and monitoring.
  • Act as a champion or business process owner as appropriate to ensure that Six Sigma or other projects are completed as described in the project charter and within the timelines agreed by company management.
  • Act as a point of escalation for team members to optimize client delivery and inform Project Services management/OCL of client or PM escalations as they are reported or as soon as issues become known.
  • Ensure timely entry of Quality Issues/Complaints into the EDA system for QA review and assist where required.
  • Actively participate in external customer meetings with sales to determine service levels needs or review study progress as required.
  • Participate in bid defence meetings to drive new and repeat business as required.
  • Regularly review and assist with the management of global study budgets to ensure change orders are timely submitted.
  • Serve as liaison between Project Services, internal departments, external vendors and the sponsor during the life cycle of the project(s).
  • Foster a unified culture and facilitate collaboration, co-operation, sharing of information and teamwork.
  • Keep abreast of new technical developments and initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality of services and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the Customer Governance Process as assigned and provide strategic direction for the global project management for an assigned customer segment.
  • Act as process owner for all customer program related segments in areas including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, Standard Operating Procedures and process improvements, as applicable.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management processes, the company processes, and/or equivalent working knowledge
  • of central laboratory operations required.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the company systems, or equivalent experience with similar

Centralized Laboratory systems preferred.

  • Experience in successfully leading large, global and complex Phase I-IV clinical trials preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced while possessing strong organizational skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills including good command of English language. In certain geographies where

local language is desired (e.g. Japan, China), excellent command of local language with reasonable proficiency in English

preferred.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences and/or related experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in clinical trials/ hospital-funded research, project management or laboratory environment

    preferred.
