Our Predictive Analytics team within the RWAS Technology division is a fast-growing group of collaborative, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial individuals. In our never-ending quest for opportunities to harness the value of patient Real World Evidence, we are at the center of IQVIA’s advances in areas such as machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Our efforts improve retrospective clinical studies, under-diagnosis of rare diseases, personalized treatment response profiles, disease progression predictions, and clinical decision-support tools. 

We are looking for a creative, innovative, intellectually curious and entrepreneurial Predictive Analytics Principal to join our team.

The role

This is an exciting role for a Predictive Analytics Principal who is keen to help shape, grow and lead the development and deployment of AI algorithms across healthcare settings. The Predictive Analytics team have rapidly acquired a reputation within life sciences and are now looking for a Principal to lead continued innovation directly to healthcare providers and health systems. The key offerings aim to support patient outcomes and healthcare delivery by accelerating time to diagnosis through identifying undiagnosed patients with a variety of rare, chronic and major diseases.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Working closely with healthcare providers to identify opportunities for using AI to improve healthcare delivery.
  • Devising and executing an ambitious roadmap to develop and deploy AI solutions amongst healthcare providers, aimed at ensuring IQVIA is at the forefront of this exciting and emerging field.
  • Understanding the breadth and diversity of relevant IQVIA capability and leveraging this to build successful internal and external partnerships.
  • Overseeing discussions on contracts, data access, information governance and so on with IDNs, EMR vendors and other external stakeholders to enable the successful roll-out of AI solutions.
  • Building partnerships and consortia with relevant stakeholders to lay a strong foundation for success. Stakeholders will include professional clinical organisations, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, patient groups, etc.
  • Leading the development and deployment of AI algorithms, through initial proof of concepts to subsequent roll-out and adoption, working closely with Predictive Analytics Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Consultants.
  • Communicating the vision and success of the strategy both internally and externally to galvanise and mobilise support and ensure IQVIA remain thought leaders and innovators in AI and healthcare.

The successful candidate will not necessarily have a background in AI. However, s/he will be passionate about the ways in which advanced analytics has the potential to improve healthcare and be highly motivated to create and drive forward an agenda to this end.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Experience leading the implementation of analytics, technology solutions in healthcare settings.
  • An excellent understanding of the US healthcare provider space, especially with respect to the current landscape for analytics technologies and opportunities for expansion.
  • Extensive experience leading complex, large-scale projects with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Successful track record in business development, including offering development and sales.
  • An enthusiasm to learn about AI and its potential in healthcare.
  • A solid understanding of longitudinal patient data e.g. Electronic Medical Records.
  • Comfortable working with open-ended problems – a consultancy mindset and a proactive can-do attitude.
  • (Desirable but not essential) Strong statistical knowledge e.g. fitting regressions, inference testing, sampling, etc. Knowledge of machine learning methods (such as neural networks, boosting algorithms, random forests and so on).

The team

You will join this high-profile team to work on ground-breaking problems in health outcomes across disease areas including Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurology, Chronic diseases such as diabetes, and a variety of very rare conditions. The Predictive Analytics team work hand-in-hand with statisticians, epidemiologists and disease area experts across the wider global IQVIA team, leveraging a vast variety of anonymous patient-level information from sources such as prescriptions, claims and electronic health records. The data encompasses IQVIA’s access to over 530 million anonymized patients as well as bespoke, custom partnerships with healthcare providers and payers.
