Summary

Responsible and accountable for performing a wide range of tasks to provide a specimen of highest analytical quality for testing and accurate information for the clients. Promotes standardization through collaboration and coordination within a specialty. Performs work in accordance with ICH E6 Guideline for Good Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the subject matter expert and provides day-to-day operational guidance for Anatomic Pathology Specimen Processing (AP-SP)
  • Responsible for accessioning and problem resolution as well as assuring that all specimens brought to the laboratory are accurately identified (by name/specimen type), sorted and labeled for testing and/or storage.
  • Provide support to line management in any tasks applicable to the daily running of the department.
  • Verify adequate staffing is available to perform daily duties.
  • Perform daily sweep checks of working area following SOP guidelines.
  • Participate in calls and provide status/progress updates to leadership.
  • Support leadership with the evaluation of employee performance and training assessment needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-5 Years’ relevant industry experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Self-starter with emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to liaise with internal departments
  • Positive upbeat attitude with ability to work with in a high pressure environment.
  • Experienced in coordinating teams or groups (Lead or Supervisor experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience managing email via Outlook and Excel experience preferred.
