IQVIA Real World Insights (RWI)

IQVIA is leading the development of a new business service, the foundation for which is a pan-European infrastructure to collect, aggregate and report on healthcare and pharmaceutical product use at a patient level. IQVIA will be working with healthcare providers on this new RWI initiative in order to develop access to, codify, combine and subsequently structure for analysis patient-level data sources across multiple healthcare providers in several European countries.

Role Description

The Medical Report Writer / Technical Report Writer is in charge of writing the necessary documents for performances realized within the CSD-MR department (Protocol, CRF, study report, article…).

Principal Accountabilities

As a Medical Report Writer / Technical Report Writer with IQVIA RWI, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Write and/or reread methodological and financial proposals related to medical writing activities
  • Write scientific publications for international journals, posters, articles, abstracts; specifically peer-reviewed publications
  • Write CRFs
  • Write study protocols
  • Write study reports
  • Manage customer relationship all the way through projects
  • Manage sub-contracting medical writing activities when applicable
  • Liaise with project managers, data managers, statisticians, epidemiologists and trusts’ medical directors to deliver high quality results
  • Demonstrate a command of assigned therapeutic areas and expertise with assigned products.
  • Research and write original content for publications activities (primary and review manuscripts, abstracts, and posters), slide presentations and other materials.
  • Research, develop and write content that is scientifically accurate, evidence-based, grammatically accurate, referenced using appropriate sources, and consistent with quality standards.
  • Clearly communicate medical scientific concepts in a condensed, audience-appropriate way.
  • Demonstrate the flexibility/adaptability necessary to function on different therapeutic teams as needed.
  • Interpret and apply clinical data in medical communication deliverables

  • Solid medical/ scientific knowledge, ideally in oncology
  • Planning, organizing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives

  • Leading teams to execute high quality analysis of datasets
  • Leading quality assurance efforts for components of research datasets / solutions overseen both initially and through construction and on an ongoing basis

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Candidates interested in joining the IQVIA RWI as a Medical Report Writer / Technical Report Writer will have:

  • BA/BSc, preferably in a relevant and / or numerate subject such as, IT, life sciences, chemistry or engineering
  • A postgraduate qualification in life sciences or computer science discipline is desirable although not essential
  • Experience of developing positive, credible and lasting relationships with senior level managers, hospital staff and clinical teams
  • Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong capability in managing projects and juggling priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistently high-quality outcomes
  • Extensive experience in healthcare IT / research informatics
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation and report writing
  • 10+ years medical report writing experience
  • Excellent conversational and business English (written and oral)
  • A willingness and ability to travel when required


The incumbent will be based from the London office, but regular trips to hospital trusts in Europe may be required.
