Job description

Thanks to a great team and innovative use of natural language processing (NLP) based technology, the software is acknowledged as a leading solution in the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare industries and is used by most of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, major health systems, academic medical centers and governmental agencies.  We are now looking for an Application Scientist to help drive the growth of our business with Pre-Sales support.

Key tasks and responsibilities  

  • Support the sales team throughout the sales cycle in identifying customer requirements and demonstrating the value of the Linguamatics solution to the customer.
  • Prepare and deliver value-based software demonstrations/presentations for IQVIA’s NLP portfolio in support of sales cycles. Preparation includes personalization of materials to ensure delivery of a simple, appealing and compelling customer presentation, focused on customer success.
  • Work closely with industry segment leads and sales team on creating and maintaining representative use cases and demonstration materials, to provide proof points with relevant customer stories.
  • Support one-to-many sales and marketing events both on-site and remotely. Travel to conferences and customer sites to present IQVIA’s NLP technology to prospective customers.
  • Support RFI, RFP, and proposal development for sales team
  • Provide direction and support for customer onboarding.
  • Support the customer and ensure their success in using the product to gain maximum ROI.
  • Feed customer requirements back to the product offerings team and help test new software releases.


The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Life science, biomedical, healthcare or similar degree, preferably to postgraduate level or equivalent experience.
  • Project management experience with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A pro-active attitude and ability to work in a team.

Desirable attributes

  • Knowledge of informatics, information management, data science, IT systems.
  • Good understanding of data science and machine learning concepts, with the ability to convey to non-technical audiences
  • Experience of working on life science or healthcare applications, ideally in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with text mining, data science methods, and/or enterprise search.
  • Understanding of enterprise deployment architectures is a plus.
