Our Predictive Analytics team within the Real World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) Technology division is a fast-growing group of collaborative, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial individuals. In our never-ending quest for opportunities to harness the value of Real World Evidence (RWE), we are at the center of IQVIA’s advances in areas such as machine learning and cutting-edge statistical approaches. Our efforts improve retrospective clinical studies, under-diagnosis of rare diseases, personalized treatment response, disease progression predictions, and clinical decision-support tools.

We are looking for a creative, innovative, intellectually curious and entrepreneurial Predictive Analytics Manager to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the world's leading RWE teams working with Real World patient data to help our clients answer specific questions globally, make more informed decisions and deliver results.

The Team:

You will join this high profile team to work on ground-breaking problems in health outcomes across disease areas including Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurology, chronic diseases such as diabetes, and a variety of very rare conditions. The Predictive Analytics team, comprising client-facing consultants, data scientists and software engineers, work hand-in-hand with statisticians, epidemiologists and disease area experts across the wider global RWAS team, leveraging a vast variety of anonymous patient-level information from sources such as prescriptions, claims and electronic health records. The data encompasses IQVIA’s access to over 530 million anonymized patients as well as bespoke, custom partnerships with healthcare providers and payers.

The Role:

This is an exciting role for a Predictive Analytics Manager who is keen to help shape and grow a high profile and highly motivated predictive analytics team at the cutting-edge of life science. You will be exposed to both tier 1 and emerging pharmaceutical clients, diverse disease areas, complex healthcare challenges and market-leading anonymized patient datasets. This is an unrivalled opportunity to accelerate your career in an exciting direction. The role will encompass a mix of delivery and business development responsibilities including:

  • First, you will independently oversee the design and delivery of advanced statistical / machine learning projects for US clients, such as developing algorithms to find undiagnosed patients with rare conditions. You will assume day-to-day responsibility for projects, oversee multiple work streams involving data scientists, clinical experts, client presentations, etc., demonstrating critical thinking, intellectual engagement and maturity.
  • Second, you will support and independently drive business development initiatives, including qualifying leads from clients, writing proposals, pitching to clients, etc. Throughout, you will work closely with internal stakeholders from around the business to ensure the proposed solution is truly innovative and provides an exciting value proposition to clients.
  • Third, as you grow into the role, you will assume increased mentorship responsibilities, leading and inspiring other team members, serving as the go-to person for predictive analytics solutions, collaborating with software engineers and data scientists to improve the efficiency and quality of project deliverables, presenting at conferences and engaging in a variety of thought leadership initiatives.

You will work closely with data scientists who will provide expertise on how and when to use advanced statistical / machine learning methods; you will require a strong existing foundational analytical knowledge coupled with an enthusiasm to deepen your understanding of advanced statistical and machine learning methods.

Skills & Experience:

Candidates interested in joining the Global Predictive Analytics team as a Manager will have:

  • A strong analytical background and a desire to upskill in predictive analytics / machine learning
  • A deep understanding and excitement for the application of statistics/machine learning in healthcare/life sciences and the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in healthcare / life sciences with focus on strategic business cases for analytics services or products
  • Strong capability in independently managing analytics projects and priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistently high-quality deliverables
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplined teams
  • Experience of developing credible relationships with senior level managers and executives
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
  • Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
  • Inquisitiveness, attention to detail, ability to assess challenges
  • Excellent presentation, communication and client-facing skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presentations, small group facilitation, business and analytics report writing
  • Prior experience with software packages such as R, Python, Matlab and SAS would be desirable but not required
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques would be desirable but not required

Qualifications & Other Requirements:

In addition to the skills and experience above, candidates interested in joining as a Manager will have:

  • BA/BSc preferably related to life sciences, chemistry, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
  • A postgraduate qualification in life sciences, statistics or a related discipline is desirable although not essential
  • Experience in healthcare consulting or exposure to the life science sector industry
  • Excellent conversational and business English (written and oral)
