Our Predictive Analytics team within the Real World Insights (RWI) Technology division is a fast growing group of collaborative, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial individuals. In our never-ending quest for opportunities to harness the value of Real World Evidence (RWE), we are at the centre of IQVIA’s advances in areas such as machine learning and cutting-edge statistical approaches. Our efforts improve retrospective clinical studies, under-diagnosis of rare diseases, personalized treatment response profiles, disease progression predictions, and clinical decision-support tools.

We are looking for a creative, innovative, intellectually curious and entrepreneurial Predictive Analytics Manager to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the world's leading RWI teams working with Real World Insights to help our clients answer specific questions globally, make more informed decisions and deliver results.

The team

You will join this high profile team to work on ground-breaking problems in health outcomes across disease areas including Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurology, Chronic diseases such as diabetes, and a variety of very rare conditions. The Predictive Analytics team work hand-in-hand with statisticians, epidemiologists and disease area experts across the wider global RWE Solutions team, leveraging a vast variety of anonymous patient-level information from sources such as prescriptions, claims and electronic health records. The data encompasses IQVIA’s access to over 530 million anonymized patients as well as bespoke, custom partnerships with healthcare providers and payers.

The role

This is an exciting role for a Predictive Analytics Manager who is keen to help shape and grow a high profile and highly motivated predictive analytics team at the cutting-edge of life science. You will be exposed to both tier 1 and emerging pharmaceutical clients, diverse disease areas, complex healthcare challenges and market-leading anonymized patient datasets. This is an unrivalled opportunity to accelerate your career in an exciting direction.

Your work will span three key areas:

  • First, you will oversee the design and delivery of advanced statistical / machine learning projects for US clients, such as developing algorithms to find undiagnosed patients with rare conditions. You will assume day-to-day responsibility for projects, oversee multiple work streams involving data scientists, clinical experts, client presentations, etc., demonstrating critical thinking, intellectual engagement and maturity.
  • Second, you will support business development initiatives, including qualifying leads from clients, writing proposals, pitching to clients, etc. Throughout, you will work closely with internal stakeholders from around the business to ensure the proposed solution is truly innovative and provides an exciting value proposition to clients.
  • Third, as you grow into the role, you will assume increased mentorship responsibilities, leading and inspiring other team members, serving as the go-to person for predictive analytics solutions, collaborating with software engineers and data scientists to improve the efficiency and quality of project deliverables, presenting at conferences and engaging in a variety of thought leadership initiatives.

You will work closely with data scientists who will provide expertise on how and when to use advanced statistical / machine learning methods, but you will require a strong existing foundational statistical knowledge coupled with an enthusiasm to deepen your understanding of advanced methods.

At IQVIA we appreciate and nurture individual talent. Therefore, the exact blend of responsibilities and individual career development will in part depend on the skill set and aspirations of the successful candidate.

Our ideal candidate:

•Extensive experience leading the design and delivery of advanced statistical / machine learning projects in the commercial sector end to end with proven delivery capability including capturing requirements, designing analysis plans, interfacing with clients and writing reports / manuscripts.

•Extensive experience in a consulting environment.

•Excellent understanding of patient-level, longitudinal data such as insurance claims, EHR, etc., with demonstrable experience of delivering multiple projects using this type of data.

•Strong statistical knowledge e.g. fitting regressions, inference testing, sampling, etc. Knowledge of machine learning methods (such as neural networks, boosting algorithms, random forests and so on) is a distinct preference, though not strictly required.

•A proactive, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently.

•Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including ability to present technical concepts to lay audiences, write analysis plans for projects, contribute to proposals / grant applications, pitch ideas effectively and persuasively to clients / internal stakeholders, etc.

•Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results-driven environment.

•Familiarity with analysis of healthcare issues, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, adherence, healthcare utilization, etc.

We know that meaningful results require not only the right approach but also the right people. Regardless of your role, we invite you to reimagine healthcare with us. You will have the opportunity to play an important part in helping our clients drive healthcare forward and ultimately improve human health outcomes.

Whatever your career goals, we are here to ensure you get there!
