Job Description


Establish and monitor laboratory quality and technical systems including assay quality control, proficiency testing review, the scientific database and global laboratory meetings. Collaborate with the assay development laboratory, regional production laboratories, scientific review, data management, vendors and laboratory management as necessary in the execution and fulfillment of duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 


•         Plan, schedule, conduct, report and close global assay quality control reviews, monitor regional and/or global trends, implement corrective actions when needed to establish or restore acceptable global performance


•         Plan, schedule, conduct, report and close the global review of regional laboratory investigations performed for proficiency testing failures and interacts with laboratory management regarding regional laboratory compliance with process improvements


•         Ensure the Scientific Database and the test code system are updated with accurate information on a timely basis


•          Ensure the global inventory of harmonized reagents, calibrators and quality control materials is maintained


•         Write sponsor communications regarding technical assay updates impacting active protocols.


•         Participate in laboratory management discussions with vendors regarding technical assay issues, global pricing and global reagent inventory delivery


•         Provide training to Global Harmonization team and regional laboratory teams, as needed


•         Facilitate global technical meetings

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 


•         Knowledge of clinical and/or research laboratory environment and safety and infection control procedures.


•          Knowledge of laboratory equipment, clinical laboratory assays, quality control and validation procedures.


•         Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills


•         Ability to balance multiple priorities


•         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients

Minimum Education and requirements

Bachelors degree in medical technologies or equivalent and/or experience in research lab/clinical environment or an equivalent combination
