Instrument Licensing Clinical Project Manager, Patient Centered Solutions
Job description
The IQVIA Patient Centered Solutions group has an opportunity for an Instrument Services Manager to join the team to support Instrument Licensing activities. In this role you will be responsible for licensing Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) from their copyright holder or designated distributor for use in clinical trials, real-world studies, or other patient-focused use cases. The role also requires managing clients, overseeing staff, and development of new processes to enhance group performance. The world of data gathering for instruments is diverse and evolving quickly, so you'll need to ensure you are proactively expanding your knowledge of this important sector focused on capturing the patient’s voice.
Specifically, your role will include:
Consult with subject matter experts, internal and external clients to set realistic expectations for project timelines, risks, and scope of projects
Train new team members and direct reports on processes, domain nuances and progressing key competencies
Develop, maintain, and lead programs for new COA instrument management and licensing services and technologies
Ensure individual work stream plans are in place, and confirm that adequate skills and resources are available to meet deliverables and milestones
Manage team members supporting program activities, including dedicated staff, matrixed staff, and contractors
Serve as a primary IQVIA contact for assigned COA instrument projects to ensure appropriate communication channels are maintained and delivery expectations are being met
Monitor, manage, and communicate expectations and activities related to COA licensing to external clients, IQVIA project teams, and senior IQVIA stakeholders
Partner as needed with global functions supporting the COA Instrument business including Marketing, Finance, Contracting, Legal, HR, and IT
Support business case development and due diligence activities for development and acquisition opportunities that can potentially fill capability gaps
Support development of new processes, tools, templates, and other documentation for the practice
Track performance of assigned COA instruments businesses, including sales/revenue and staff
Provide monthly updates on program status to the COA Instruments executive oversight team
About You
Candidates interested in joining our Patient Centered Solutions team as Instrument Services Manager should have:
Client Consulting/Customer facing skills and experience
Experience with use and implementation of COA Instruments/assessments
Experience with Licensing and Management of copyrighted materials, publications and collaborating with Authors/Owners of copyrighted works
Strong demonstrated program management skills and ability to work with others to deliver timely and high-quality results
Experience working productively in a pressurized environment and managing competing priorities
Highly effective team leadership, mentoring, and training skills, fostering learning and knowledge sharing with colleagues
Ability to simultaneously juggle multiple complex projects and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
Excellent organization and problem-solving / analytical skills
Experience managing vendors, translation companies to meet delivery timelines
Management by influence skills in collaborating with indirect internal and external stakeholders to meet project timelines
In addition to the skills and experience above the Instrument Services Manager should have:
Bachelor's degree in life sciences, other sciences, computer science, engineering or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
6+ years’ work experience in a combination of the following roles: management consulting, drug development, clinical research, or scientific software management/development, including program management or project leadership experience
Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development process
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with IQVIA business units / functions and ability to navigate the organization effectively is a plus
