Solution Sales Specialist – Market Intelligence Data

Contract type: Permanent

Location: London

IQVIA is looking for a Solution sales specialist to drive new and maintain existing business with a designated portfolio of products in the UK 

Role Summary

The Market Intelligence  data underpins the entire IQVIA business and is a critical segment of our business.  The role of the Solution Sales Specialist is to promote, recommend and sell IQVIA’s Market Intelligence  data (national, sub-national wholesaler, prescription, hospital and medical data) and related solutions to organisations within the Life Science industry. This includes developing, managing, and implementing sales strategies, identifying potential customers (existing and new), and cultivating customer relationships to close deals.

You must have a good appreciation of the IQVIA core, our offerings and strong internal network to pull end to end solutions together. Increasingly these solutions are utilized in combination with all other areas within IQVIA and will be larger, more complex and longer term to underpin the relationship and value we bring to our clients.

The role will support multiple accounts across the organisation however, will not be the sole relationship manager for these accounts. Working closely with account teams to coordinate the approach for each client will be vital

The candidate will identify and pursue sales leads; develop white space analysis to identify growth potential, make sales calls and visits within the UK Life Sciences industry; conclude orders and arrange internal sales logistics; resolve customer complaints; monitor changing customer needs and competitor activity; report performance against sales targets, contribute to the IQVIA financial planning process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieves growth & revenue targets for assigned products through a consultative sales approach that solves client business issues.

  • Proactively strengthens in depth knowledge of products and their application within a client’s business .

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the healthcare industry to maximize value we can offer to clients by offering industry-wide insights

  • Collaborates with Account Team to target and validate opportunities for assigned customers / territory.

  • Interfaces with customer at all levels.

  • Creates and presents client proposals that result in winning sales.

  • As necessary, identifies and manages resources to aid development of client specific solutions for customers.

  • Monitors delivery, implementation, and customer satisfaction.

  • Seeks “starburst” opportunities within existing customers to grow revenue opportunities across the IQVIA suite of offerings as well as working across the industry to identify new customers from all different areas.

  • As part of the sales process, gathers market and client intelligence and provides strategic feedback to Marketing, Consulting, Service, and Sales to strengthen or product offerings and capture additional business.

  • Work collaboratively with IQVIA colleagues across the organization to ensure they are engaged and aligned to the core data strategy and support new business opportunities within clients. Work closely with colleagues to pull together successful, complex solutions for clients.

Education, skills and experience required

  • Graduate caliber – minimum grade 2.1 or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of account management / business development

  • Proven track record of managing a balanced pipeline of short-term tactical opportunities to long term strategic engagements

  • Able to develop a network of senior and middle management contacts to build long lasting trusted partnerships

  • Familiarity with IQVIA core products and information solutions/consulting services portfolio.

  • Strong sales and opportunity management skills across the full sales cycle (from lead identification to contract negotiations and closing)

  • Able to create strategic and tactical customer action plans

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting/forecasting and sales opportunity management

  • Possesses knowledge of key marketplace issues for the pharmaceutical industry and related businesses and can turn that knowledge into actionable client tactical plans.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to understand and interpret complex concepts

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office, to deliver professional client communications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Proactive and accountable with the aim to always drive positive client satisfaction

  • Self-motivated, problem solve who is driven to succeed

  • Strategic thinker with a solution focus, combined with ability to execute tactically 

  • Ability to develop strong internal relationships and to work collaboratively to pull together client engagements and delivery of projects

  • Eligible to work in the UK/EU without sponsorship.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); strong written English with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
