Under general direction, has duties of providing development and system support for PeopleSoft Finance and HR applications. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other development personnel. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Has good understanding of the business or function for which application is designed. Responsible for quality assurance review. Acts as project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members. Responsible for project completion and user satisfaction.
  • Designs, develops and tests production fixes and enhancements per specifications.
  • Serves as technical lead on large, complex projects.
  • Creates requested documentation supporting system design, code, and testing.
  • Plans and coordinates peer review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members.
  • Works closely with Business Analysts, Support Analysts, and end users to understand requirements in order to design technical solutions that are in line with business needs while staying consistent with the application architecture.
  • Makes recommendations for approaches to development on new items or resolutions to issues.
  • Accurately estimates the magnitude and time requirements to complete projects.  Provides accurate and timely updates to project manager and/or team lead on progress.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of application development experience working with PeopleSoft Financials and/or HR applications, with good functional knowledge.
  • 7+ years technical PeopleSoft experience with Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, SQL, SQR, PeopleTools, BI Publisher, CIs, PS/Query, Datamover, COBOL, and Integration Broker.
  • Strong understanding of Record/Page/Component PeopleCode and the Component Processor.
  • Proven interfacing experience with an in depth grasp of Application Engine, File Layouts and Component Interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Application Packages, Objects, Classes, Properties and Methods.
  • Exposure to Application Messaging / Integration Broker is a plus.
  • Experience of HR modules, such as: Workforce Administration, Benefits, Manager Self Service & Self Service, T&L, Absence Management, Compensation, Performance Management, Payroll Interface and Applicant Tracking and/or experience of Financial modules, such as: GL, AP, BI, PC, and, EX.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Finance and/or HR v9.1 – v9.2 is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Approval Workflow Engine and approval routing would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience developing application customizations, interfaces and reports.
  • Ability to logically troubleshoot technical problems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of the systems development life-cycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to create technical design documents, unit test scripts, etc.
  • Possess an expert knowledge in software development tools, practices, and lifecycle methodologies
  • Possess strong supervisory skills.
  • Master’s Degree in computer science or related field with a minimum 7 years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Extensive use of keyboard and mouse requiring repetitive motion of fingers and wrists
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
