Information Security Senior Business Analyst

PURPOSE

  • Provide expertise in soliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing business & functional requirements for complex enterprise Information Security solutions, with a focus on Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities.
  • Ensure business and functional requirements are fully understood by the technical team before solutions are designed and implemented and adherence to established System Life-Cycle (SLC) and Computer System Validation (CSV) procedures, where applicable.
  • Work on multiple projects, collaborate with team members, delivery partners, stakeholders and vendors to ensure alignment of solution and requirements, document project scope, objectives, and ROI/benefit expectations, based on both stakeholders’ needs and a robust understanding of applicable business systems and requirements.
  • According to the requirements and business needs, provide expertise in validating, testing and delivering of the information security solutions.

SCOPE

  • The role will focus on all aspects of information security, with an accent on IAM solutions
  • The IQVIA Information Security landscape consists of both custom-built solution(s), SaaS/cloud services, and commercial off the shelf (COTS) products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform business requirements elicitation, gathering, and analysis via close collaboration and agreement with the stakeholders.

2. Author the Business Requirement Specification; resolve conflicting requirements; identify dependencies and prioritize requirements.

3. Model processes/workflows to clarify business requirements, and to enhance or re-engineer business processes, prior to, or in parallel with, solution design and implementation, as necessary.

4. In cooperation with the team members, produce and review data/information models and preliminary system architecture, as needed.

5. Author the Functional/System Requirement Specifications, based on translation of the business requirements, for consumption by the implementation team and delivery partners.

6. Facilitate review and approval of both the business requirements specification and the functional/system requirement specification(s).

7. Forge a strong, collaborative partnership with the implementation, integration teams and delivery partners to ensure understanding and adherence to business and functional requirements; lead project streams to completion.

8. Facilitate designing, writing, and executing test cases to prove systems functionality and compliance, verifying business and user requirements are met and that systems will operate as expected in the production environment.

9. Participate in test-related activities (e.g. test inventory, traceability, test case development, test data development, test case execution, troubleshooting/root cause analysis), as needed.

10. Author support and operational documentation (e.g. system/ops manual, user guide, knowledge-base articles, etc.).

11. In collaboration with the InfoSec Communication team, author materials to be used in both end-user and stakeholder communications.

12. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and perform support and operational duties during the post-go-live “hyper care” period, prior to transition to support.

13. Guide and advises less-experienced Business Analysts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Primary Technical Skills

  • Strong technical and business writing skills
  • Strong understanding of requirements methods:  elicitation, analysis, specification, and verification, and the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences
  • Knowledge of process engineering and process improvements
  • High-level of accountability and ability to execute within agreed-upon timelines
  • Large scale enterprise program/project management from conceptualization through implementation
  • Managing dependencies and integration across multiple IT groups and systems
  • Proven analytical skills for managing project risks, resources, expectations and budgets

Secondary Technical Skills

  • Previous experience within the Information Security and/or IAM technical domains
  • Experience in estimating and planning technical work effort
  • Understanding of modeling languages
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for user interface design
  • Previous experience within regulated environments
  • Experience with System Life-Cycle (SLC).

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on business analysis experience
  • PMP Certification desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive use of the telephone and face-to-face communications, which requires accurate communication skills
  • Significant amount of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
  • Travel may be required occasionally
