IQVIA is leading the development of a new business service, the foundation for which is a pan-European infrastructure to collect, aggregate and report on healthcare and pharmaceutical product use at a patient level. IQVIA will be working with healthcare providers on this new RWI initiative in order to develop access to, codify, combine and subsequently structure for analysis patient-level data sources across multiple healthcare providers in several European countries.

Role Description

This is a real opportunity for you to be part of team building a new product to be used in the future to enhance decision making in the healthcare space specifically related to the oncology area and to positively impact the outcomes for future patients and healthcare providers.  The Healthcare Data Scientist will travel to hospitals and build relationships with local data asset owners which will require strong relationship management and communication skills.  You will act as a creative and resourceful detective in carrying out due diligence on the existing infrastructure and data assets to aid IQVIA senior management to make decisions whether the given trust is a suitable partner for our business objectives.  You will create reports to outline the type, volume, quality and completeness of the data from many hospital departmental data sources.

Principal Accountabilities

• Conducting analysis on the content of clinical datasets to assess quality, completeness and volumes of data, and effectively communicate the results of this analysis to IQVIA colleagues and partners
• Ability to extract and amalgamate information and create meaningful reports on the data working with whatever environment you find.
• Performing initial descriptive data analyses on datasets
• Coordinating with other IQVIA teams to ensure that research objectives are able to be met
• Liaising with system owners, research informatics and clinical teams on-site in order to understand the origins, contents and structure of datasets
• Engaging with hospital managers and clinical staff to build and maintain relationships
  

Your Expertise

Our ideal candidate will likely have a blend of the following experience:

• Completed university degree, preferably in a subject such as IT, business informatics, information systems, life sciences, physics or engineering
• Some prior experience in a Data Scientist position working with healthcare data
• Good SQL or Oracle experience
• Good data management experience, including database administration
• Good data visualization skills with prior exposure to MicroStrategy and Tableau an advantage
• Some high level ETL understanding is advantageous
• Some prior experience in healthcare IT/research informatics, and ideally, the hospital environment
• Proven analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
• Excellent IT literacy e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within timelines
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
  

Location

The incumbent will be based from our office with travel on a frequent basis to a hospital location for 3-4 days per week.
