Our main offices for the Healthcare team are Stafford and London.  This role is location independent.

Role Purpose

This is a key role that will enable IQVIA to support UK healthcare organisations including NHS Providers and associated payers (Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs)) and the life science industry with expert analytical insight to help them to improve patient care, reduce variability and reduce healthcare delivery costs.

The role is part of a dedicated team of consultants and requires providing direction to clients on data comprehension and analysis, the manipulation and provision of clean and valid data to clients internal and external, producing regular reports and findings as appropriate, and identifying and elevating potential new business opportunities when needed.

The role will be key part of the UK analytical team with specific focus on our successful Healthcare business. Candidates should be able to show a strong understanding of the Healthcare environment, and current and potential future policies impacting both the healthcare and life science industries. The candidate can be expected to have growth opportunities and will be supported by IQVIA existing capabilities in the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with our healthcare customers to gather requirements for the structure and analysis of data, from administrative data or that collected during the delivery of care (e.g. from EMR systems, prescribing systems; IQVIA systems) so that our healthcare customers can draw meaningful management insights in how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of care delivery
  • Display keen critical thinking and consulting aptitude to be able to quickly understand client problems and determine where analytics could support and add value to clients
  • Deliver data and analytical outputs that are aligned with the project method and client problem that are comprehensible and actionable (e.g. lead to realizable cost savings or improved adherence to clinical care pathways / guidelines)
  • Determine innovative approaches to the structure and analysis of these data, harnessing additional IQVIA assets and/or technology solutions when necessary to add value to the final deliverable

Skills Experience and Education Required:

  • Ideally educated to degree level, but relevant experience is more pertinent
  • In-depth related experience in Healthcare, including but not limited to acute hospitals and hospital data
  • A good understanding of current policies and challenges in Healthcare matters
  • Previous coding/programming experience (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, SPSS, Stata, Python) for data manipulation and processing for analysis
  • Understanding of reporting / BI tools e.g. Qlik, Tableau
  • Understanding of how analytics can improve performance
  • Experience of a client facing role with the ability to persuade and influence
  • Analytical mind set but can communicate to non-analytical and technical people
  • Superb client relationship management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, juggle priorities, and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, communication (especially listening) and client influencing skills
  • Enjoy working within a team environment and contributing to the team
  • Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organisation to accomplish team goals
  • Ability and hunger to learn

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • End to end delivery experience of Healthcare analytics within a healthcare organisation or consultancy
  • Understanding of health data flows across the NHS and related organisations
  • Understanding of NHS costing and tariff development and use
  • Experience in database management or ETL processes may be advantageous
  • Any Hadoop / Opensource (Scala, Spark etc.) experience will be welcome
  • Knowledge of risk adjustment methodologies
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling (e.g. confidence intervals, standard deviation, regression analysis, SPC)
  • Previous coding/programming experience (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, SPSS, Stata, Python, VBA) for data manipulation and processing for analysis
