Engagement Manager:

Role Summary:

Responsible for the planning, development, management and delivery of on-time and on-budget completion of Data Warehouse projects for clients in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industries. Engagement Managers supervise and provide day-to-day direction to teams of 3 to 10+ consultants on a project, and develop relationships with peers and executives on the client side. This role will work closely with IMS senior sales executives building and responding to proposals of prospective clients. Enforce organizational policies and establishes goals for project teams which develop business applications and information services products.  Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of MDM projects.

Work with management across the organization to define, plan, develop and implement new information products and services.  Manage, and control scope, schedule and budget for projects.  Communicate project status and risks, with associated recommendations, to all stakeholders. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent experience working with clients in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • 7+ years’ experience in a consultative role with management background, PMP certification preferred not required
  • Experienced managing Datawarehouse or Data based projects preferred
  • Comfortable with Data Reference Platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skill
  • Strong capability in managing projects and juggling priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistently high quality outcomes
  • Experience of working in sizable/ multi-disciplined teams and supervising staff
  • Very strong Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Visio, and MS Project skills


  • Lead all aspects of projects to a successful outcome
  • Supervise, evaluate, and mentor others
  • Participate in the delivery of training to Consultants
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Executive/Senior Director-level client staff
  • Lead client meetings and presentations
  • Facilitate workshops with clients
  • Conduct interviews with clients
  • Identify, escalate, and propose solutions to issues to appropriate authority
  • Develop and present progress reports
  • Create full proposals and marketing presentations
  • Develop and manage project plans and budgets
  • Develop and manage the invoicing and payment cycle with clients
  • Assist the Managed Markets consulting practice with developing new service offerings
  • Providing direction, advice and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams. Direct consulting teams through consistent participation in team meeting
