The Director/Senior Director of Virtual Trial site operations will be responsible for overseeing all virtual site operations i.e. administration, compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects associated with clinical research.  This entails ensuring that site operations services are delivered by the virtual site team according to timelines committed to customers and in compliance with regulatory requirements.  The Director/Senior Director will also serve as primary SME expert on all aspects of site operations helping as needed to for further build out of virtual site solution. The Director of VT site operations will report to VP of Strategy or Clinical Operations.
  • Oversee all aspects of clinical research operations associated with virtual sites.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all study guides and patient concierge personal
  • Ensure virtual study trial staff enroll appropriately diagnosed patients and create proper documentation and remote delivery and administration of drugs
  • Help establish and maintain all site operating procedures for all aspects of clinical research from CDA through budget negotiations, clinical operations, source materials, regulatory, accounting and study closure.
  • Ensure development of strong working partnership with virtual PI associated with studies. Help enable proper medical and safety oversight by PIs.
  • Collaborate with virtual recruitment team to ensure proper enrolment of patients in accordance with study timelines.
  • Ensure site related study activities are delivered in accordance with study budgets
  • Ensure all virtual site personnel are adequately trained to conduct clinical research in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Hire, develop and effectively support career development of all site operating personnel.

Job Requirements

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience managing and overseeing clinical research activities at a clinical research site. 
  • Experience conducting studies across a broad list of therapeutic areas and study phases (II-IV).
  • Expert working knowledge of clinical site responsibilities as defined by ICH-GCP guidelines.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical trial process, steps, and require documentation in according to regulatory requirements. 
  • Demonstrated competency overseeing large multi-study budgets and ensuring adherence to financial commitments.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills. 
  • Strong customer focus and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline constraints.
  • Ability to articulate with strong presentation skills, excellent written communication abilities and contribute to executive-level discourse.
  • Positive approach to quality of work.
  • Able to operate within an open team environment.
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance (business), economics, life sciences or marketing subject. An MBA is a plus.
