PURPOSE
Apply expertise to identify, organize and establish large, collaborative, complex, cross functional projects enhancing the level of process orientation across the organization enabling a positive culture shift supporting Quintiles’ business strategy. Will identify, prioritize, implement, and measure changes accelerating operational process improvements. Ensure rigorous and agile continuous process improvement methods are applied to data capture, compilation, project planning and project management resulting in high quality deliverables enabling measurement of change. Assume responsibility and ownership of projects and business challenges while continuing to develop as a subject matter expert.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and build large, cross functional, complex projects driving process oriented culture throughout Quintiles.
Participate in initiative response/development and presentations providing process improvement expertise.
Recommend strategic programs forming long-term business partnerships maximizing the creation of global solutions that accelerate operational process/productivity improvements within Quintiles addressing data capture, project planning, change/data/process management, compilation and high quality deliverable generation.
Participate in strategic meetings and focus teams serving as OES advisor while gathering potential initiative insight for future OES engagement.
In conjunction with service area and business unit leads determines initiative structure providing leadership regarding the scope and types of engagements to pursue.
Using meaningful metrics and measurement tools ensures process improvement initiatives are aligned with overall OES and Quintiles’ strategy ensuring alignment and incorporation.
Develop risk management plan including coordination of issue escalation and resolution as well as contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Initiate or identify internal and external forums for OES representation presenting service area focus and experience.
Serve as knowledge and subject matter expert and contact for senior and executive management.
Direct process improvement project deployment: determine and establish objectives/work plans/timelines for successful implementation; conduct research and prompt discussions regarding project specifications and adjustments.
Finalize project budget and scope of work to meet or exceed financial and organization goals proactively ensuring adherence to process and change control processes.
Review and approve optimal techniques such as Statistical Process Control and Lean Six Sigma necessary to analyze global process improvement initiatives and align with overall strategy.
Advise business unit champions and service area management in project gate review process.
Identify and establish transparent, successful collaboration with OES management, Process Lead(s) and stakeholders to ensure functional deployment aligns with Quintiles’ business strategy throughout the life of project(s).
Successfully guide Green Belt and Black Belt process improvement projects to completion.
Plan, coordinate, and deliver Lean Six Sigma training for business unit champions, Green Belt and Black Belt team members growing their ability to complete projects as expected.
Manage, monitor, and report project status and issue resolution to OES, operational stakeholders, and executive management.
Lead high level presentations to OES and executive management.

Job Requirements

Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other data capture and compilation tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong critical thinking/analytical skills with strong attention to detail/quality control enabling driving initiatives to closure
Competent presentation and interpersonal skills meeting the needs of all levels within the organization up to and including the executive management team
Strong project leadership, staff management, and/or project planning skills
Ability to innovatively solve problems with demonstrated success delivering desired results according to quality guidelines and timelines
Ability to effectively select, develop and deploy complex cross-functional process improvement initiatives
Ability to demonstrate and apply relevant and evolving subject matter expertise illustrating mastered understanding of complex process / data analysis techniques and methodologies
Ability to successfully lead, manage and motivate staff
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management, business unit staff, clients, and executive management
 
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or operations management or related field with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, including 6 years experience leading teams in executing process improvement projects; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Must possess or seek out and successfully obtain Black Belt certification within 2 years of assuming role.
