JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage and direct organization and talent development and other related activities and projects that impact organizational and business unit effectiveness. Provide expertise, support and consultation on organization development matters and identify business performance issues. Recommend solutions and resources to improve overall performance of the unit. Lead organization effectiveness initiatives and mentor and develop less experienced members of the organization and talent development team in their day-to-day operational roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters.

 Direct and manage organizational needs assessments within and across the assigned business line. Sponsor and lead executive and work group assessments.

 Facilitate leadership team development activities to identify business performance improvement needs. Provide management coaching and counseling to business leaders and managers to effectively meet business line/region goals.

 Support and participate in activities and initiatives associated with cultural change and/or change management.

 Participate in new leader orientation and on boarding activities.

 Provide advice, guidance and direct support to managers regarding employee discussions on performance management and career development.

 Lead the development and implementation of employee engagement survey action plans within assigned business units and region.

 Establish and support employee on-boarding and exit surveys, and provide regular updates to business unit leaders and senior management, as required.

 Consult with business leaders to identify on-going training priorities, and develop initiatives that are aligned with business line/region goals.

 Provide coaching and counseling to business units to grow and develop staff.

 Sponsor and lead the organization’s succession planning process and talent review initiatives.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Expert knowledge and experience of organizational assessment, design and delivery principles and methods

 Excellent interpersonal, project management, organizational and leadership skills

 Excellent listening and diagnostic skills

 Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, HRIS applications and Learning Management Systems

 Strong attention to detail

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Excellent judgment and decision-making skills

 Excellent presentation skills

 Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects

 Ability to lead cross-functional project teams

 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct reports, colleagues and managers

 Ability to draw upon multi-functional experience

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor's degree, or educational equivalence, in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Business Management and 12 years of related experience including 7+ years of direct line management responsibilities with organizational change experience and experience operating with senior management teams; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.

 Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech.

 Regular sitting for extended periods of time.

 May require occasional travel.
