We are looking for a Director for Systems Development who will lead and be a change agent for Software and Data Architecture globally on our Big Data Factory.
In this role you will continually evolve and support the basic tenants of great software engineering and data architecture across the organization. As the Director of System Development you will have administration, architecture, design development and implementation responsibilities at a project level but must also be able to think at the enterprise level and lead a team towards our strategic initiatives with Big Data.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead a Software Engineering/Data Architecture organization. Develop a roadmap/backlog and strategic direction on how to solve software and data architecture challenges across the organization, and our Big Data initiatives with innovative ideas around data processing, storage, access and analytics
Participate in requirements gathering, technical specifications, architectural design and support development as it relates to software and database design, access, utilization and production deployment
Receive complex work problems/questions, develop accurate estimates and create project and component work based on specifications
Demonstrate knowledge of software and data engineering principals and its applications in solving complex, large scale data problems
Lead and coordinate iterative (Agile/Scrum) software development and analysis effort within the Software Team to ensure product development objectives are met and the software development process and Continuous Integrations and Deployment is followed
Lead and drive software projects and deployments and oversee them towards production and customer acceptance, managing risk and obstacles along the way while ensuring project stays on track

Required Technical Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information, Computer Science. Graduate degree a plus
5 years experience in software engineering
2+ years of leadership/team management experience

Additional Desired Experience
2+ years experience in database and data warehousing concepts and techniques. Understand: relational and dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schema design, Data Warehouse operating environments and related technologies, and ETL, MDM, and data governance practices.
1+ years working with development lifecycle tools, such as, Jira, Jenkins, Git, other DevOps tools
Experience applying Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment methodologies
Experience with unit testing frameworks and/or test driven development
Familiarity with Object Oriented concepts and languages, such as Java
Familiarity with Functional programming concepts and languages, such as Scala
Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, HBase, MapReduce/Yarn, etc)
Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict management skill
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Ability to complete the full lifecycle of software development and deliver on time
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Must be passionate, flexible and innovative in utilizing the tools, their experience, and any other resources, to effectively deliver to very challenging and always changing business requirements with continuous success
Must be able to interface with various solution/business areas to understand the requirements and manage scrums to support development, practicing Agile ceremonies
Healthcare experience is a plus
