Biomedical Technician Assistant
Qualified biomedical technician assistants will be tasked with supporting medical device service upgrades and communicating with hospital staff throughout large acute care hospitals. The focus will be primarily on critical care units, but any units that use the device will be affected. The changes are a result of a software enhancement made to an IV infusion pump. You will be assisting the service team in device collection, staff communication, and facilitating room to room device swap outs.
This role allows you to gain biomedical technician experience in a new way that does not involve direct patient care. If you are currently working part time or per diem, this type of position may work in conjunction with your current schedule. Additionally, you will receive exposure to the medical device industry with the potential for future opportunities in this field.
This role includes traveling nationally on a weekly basis.
Navigate units and communicate with unit nurses to assist with pulling pumps as needed
Provide staff support regarding user interface changes to infusion pumps
Assist with questions pertaining to the software upgrade and help to instill confidence in nursing staff about the infusion pump updates
Provide professional expertise to end-users
Support management staff with infusion pump configuration to adhere to facility requirements and guidelines
Interacting with patients when entering patient rooms to swap out devices for the upgrade. No direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:
Biomedical technician experience preferred
Hospital or Industry Experience required
Ability to travel up to 100% (potentially weekly)
Excellent communications Skills
Excellent documentation skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneeling and some lifting of equipment may be required of up to 50 pounds
Duties may require compliance with client requirements that all those performing services on-site be fully vaccinated
