Role and responsibilities
The Security Engineer role presents a dynamic opportunity to ensure the secure operation of the IQVIA™ global information technology (IT) infrastructure and processes by developing and maintaining security products and platforms. This role plays a large part in our Global Cybersecurity team and will provide an excellent opportunity to liaise with key external and internal stakeholders locally while strengthening the global security posture of our enterprise.
You will be part of a structure partnering with the IT community and business teams and delivering an ongoing IQVIA™ Global Cybersecurity Program. You will contribute to success of Cybersecurity Engineering work stream through the development and operationalisation of advanced partnerships and sophisticated technologies that the Cybersecurity Operations to secure our data, our systems and our enterprise. Principal responsibilities will include:
Set up and implement configuration settings as part of the deployment of global IT Security management software and hardware devices including, but not limited to: AntiVirus defence, Intrusion Detection, encryption systems, authentication and access control systems, network scanning and vulnerability assessments,
Analyse and document high level and detailed level requirements for security measures and technical configurations as part of the cybersecurity projects delivery,
Translate approved detailed designs for cybersecurity safeguards into specific configuration settings for subsequent implementation and deployment,
Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to support the global Cybersecurity Operations processes,
Propose and implement improvements to the landscape of technical security safeguards, including technologies, systems and associated processes and procédures,
Contribute to the development and engineering of procedures and metrics in relation to processes and tools operated by the Cybersecurity Operations team,
Assist with the development and documentation of a global Cybersecurity architecture to assure confidentiality, integrity and availability of company IT assets,
Maintain awareness of new and emerging cyber attack threats with potential to harm company systems and networks,
Devise and implement countermeasures to mitigate potential security threats.
Experience ans skills
Experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Risk Management, IT Controls or other related area is mandatory,
Experience in information technology related positions with working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, databases, processing systems, web applications, mobile technology, cloud, big data and virtualization,
Working knowledge of Cybersecurity principles, algorithms, protocols and technologies supporting encryption, authentication, access control, information systems attack patterns, intrusion detection, and network security,
Working knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards such as CobiT, ITIL, ISO27001/2,
Experience in working with automated network and application security vulnerability scanners,
Commitment in delivering significant value to organization as a trusted advisor,
Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate across countries and cultures,
Excellent team player and collaborator
Attention to detail combined with strategic perspective,
Ability to work under own initiative, and enthusiasm to drive through change and multi task,
Ability to exercise high level of confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information,
Experience of estimating and planning work effort including managing risks and issues in relation to delivery of work,
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology,
Minimum 4 years of related work experience,
At least one of the following certificates: CISSP, CISM, CEH or GIAC,
An ITIL or project management certificates are not required but beneficial.
The position may require occasional domestic and international travel of approx. 15%.
