This Counsel position is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer who is interested in working on complex transactions in a supportive in-house environment. 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Providing high level legal advice and support to meet business objectives, comply with laws and minimize risk
  • Drafting commercial contracts with customers and suppliers
  • Drafting of agreements for procurement department or outsourced activities
  • Providing support and drafting agreements in relation to strategic alliances and M&A activities
  • Supporting contract administration department
  • Supporting data privacy officers on contractual and business development matters
  • Limited support for legal matters relating to Human Resources department
  • Advice and assistance in relation to commercial law, intellectual property law and contract law; knowledge of company and competition law also helpful
  • Instructing and managing external counsel as appropriate
  • Apply innovative problem-solving skills and business judgment during contract negotiations to maximize revenue opportunities, minimize risk for IQVIA and foster long-term business relationships.
  • Aid in efforts to continuously improve the quality of legal services provided to the IQVIA companies
  • Coach and mentor attorneys and contract analysts within the department.
  • Limited travel mostly within European region

Required Experience 

  • UK qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate or US qualified lawyer with current state bar professional license
  • Qualified solicitor/lawyer preferably with in-house experience.  Law firm candidates with no prior in-house experience will also be considered. 
  • At least 4 years’ PQE with minimum training of 2 years at leading law firm. 
  • Work experience with pharmaceutical industry is helpful but not required.
  • Experience in commercial contracting, transactional work and intellectual property licensing.  Experience in company, competition, and privacy law also helpful.
