Job Description

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in Life sciences/MBA (preferably Marketing), with relevant experience in forecasting for the pharma/healthcare industry

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Move to onsite engagements anywhere in the United States, location dependent on business demands; all assignments involve onsite presence at client locations
  • Manage forecasting projects and work streams independently or with senior support
  • Analyze secondary data and desk market research (quantitative and qualitative) to identify key findings and trends
  • Be able work on market and epidemiology assessment, pipeline analysis, market research, and forecasting inline and pipeline products with senior support
  • Create and lead quantitative or qualitative analysis to support client deliverables and issues
  • Independently create presentations for clients and attend, support, and present to senior leadership at internal/client meetings
  • Work willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals, both internally and externally
  • Develop broad knowledge of related consulting methodologies and the pharmaceutical market through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities
  • Assist in developing detailed documentation and specifications, including business process documentation, SOPs, and client data scorecards

Job Skill Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Life sciences/MBA (preferably Marketing), with 3-6 years of relevant experience in forecasting for the pharma/healthcare industry
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of the fundamental processes of the pharmaceutical commercial business – especially the US market, and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making, growth, and decline
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
  • Thorough understanding of at least two therapy areas; experience in Oncology forecasting or rare disorders will be a plus
  • Experience working with prescription data, longitudinal and patient data, and managed care data (formulary, MMIT, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of demand forecasting as well as patient-based forecasting
  • Expertise in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and statistical trending applications (Forecast Pro, Therapy Forecaster, or other proprietary trending modules)
  • Working knowledge of the following software will be a plus: Excel VBA, Monte Carlo Analysis applications (@Risk, Crystal Ball, etc.), SAS and SQL, and BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, IQ-2020, etc.)
  • Should be able to design and carry out S&ME patient studies: SOB, P&C, Patient flow, Market sizing, and Oncology and Data marts
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for creating presentations, leading meetings, and business and report writing
  • Excellent project management capabilities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistent, high-quality outcomes
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and should demonstrate analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior healthcare data experience is a plus: national and sub-national data (physician, patient, claims, and epidemiology)
  • Prior internship, project work, and/or working experience in any of the following: market research, marketing insights, marketing analytics, multichannel marketing, consumer marketing, forecasting, statistics, predictive modeling, primary market research, technology and applications, healthcare IT, managed markets, epidemiology, HEOR, and data mining
  • An avid interest in healthcare analytics and data, with an understanding of the US healthcare market
  • Willingness to relocate anywhere within the United States for client engagements ranging from 3 to 24 months through L1 application
