Clinical Informatician, Healthcare Oncology
IQVIA Real World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS)
London
IQVIA is leading the development of a new business service, a pan-European infrastructure which collects and aggregates routine oncology healthcare data within hospital trusts to deliver real world evidence analytical reports on healthcare and pharmaceutical product use at a patient level. IQVIA is working with healthcare providers on this new RWAS initiative which will analyze patient-level data sources across multiple healthcare providers in several European countries.
Role Description
This role will offer you a unique opportunity to work on a novel, large, clinically rich oncology data set working as a key member of a small, dedicated team within a hospital trust. This opportunity arises as a consequence of a partnership between IQVIA and the healthcare data owners: the context for your work will be the cross-over between the IQVIA RWAS team, the hospital trust and the applications of RWD for life sciences clients.
Concretely, this role has 2 distinct components:
Ability to prepare and analyse pseudonymised patient-level data, according to agreed protocols and statistical analysis plans. The audience for these analyses will be varied, including clinical teams, service managers, academics and life-sciences customers.
An in-depth understanding the oncology research repository data-model, the transformations that have been applied to the data, the source systems the data comes from and good relationships with the source system owners. This understanding will be used to inform the on-going development of the research repository and the proactive identification of data irregularities
The successful candidate will have excellent programming skills (e.g. SQL, R, Stata, Python & SAS) and use them to deliver clinical analytics to deadlines that could be either clinician-led or industry-led.
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the study of a broad set of interesting analytical and statistical questions that are directly related to care delivery and patient outcomes. Given the clinical services setting, this role will provide exposure to additional aspects of data set management and enhancements, including both exploratory approaches to insight generation and the design and development of management reports and dashboards.
