Our main offices for the Healthcare team are Stafford and London.  This role is location independent.

IQVIA is increasingly being asked for its healthcare-specific analytical expertise by healthcare commissioners, providers (mainly NHS Trusts as well as private providers) and Pharmaceutical companies and so an interesting new role has been created to build a focused capability in this area. 
 Role Purpose Based in UK, the role is part of a dedicated team working on the gathering of clinical coding information from our clients and carrying out analysis to identify opportunities for optimisation.  We then provide feedback services to our clients to ensure they realise the opportunity to improve their data and increase available income. Check the monthly reports created for clients and present findings as appropriate.
 
Identifies and elevates potential new business opportunities.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participates with the team in the design, development and delivery of our coding analytical solution.
  • Provides guidance to client project team members and fellow IQVIA Consultants.
  • Performs qualitative and/or quantitative analyses to assist in the identification of client issues and the development of client specific solutions.
  • Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems.
  • May identify new business opportunities of follow-on work and new leads at assigned clients.
  • Provides follow-up with client after project deliverable has been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Proactively develops broader and deeper knowledge of related consulting through on the job experience and participation in training opportunities.
  • Provide onsite clinical coding support as required to assigned clients.
Skills Experience and Education Required:
 
Mandatory
  • Accredited clinical coder and having completed up to date clinical coding refresher courses
  • Specialist knowledge of clinical coding rules and conventions 
  • 5 years post A.C.C. coding experience within the NHS
  • Ability to explain complex, interlinking technical issues, verbally and in writing, using clear language, to staff from different professional backgrounds
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work away from home
 
Preferred
  • Approved Clinical Coding Auditor or Trainer
  • Attended Clinical Coding Specialty Workshops
  • Extensive knowledge of HRG’s
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Tariff Payment System
  • Excellent understanding of the relationship between clinical coding, HRGs and the National Tariff Payment System.
  • Extensive liaison/engagement with other professional teams including Clinicians, Senior Management Staff, Finance and Information staff.
  • Design and delivery of coding improvement projects.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Good general IT skills with ability to learn new systems quickly
