PURPOSE

The R&D Solutions (“RDS”) business within IQIVA is the world’s leading CRO and represents over 50% of IQIVA’s total revenue and profitability. This Business Unit Finance Manager role will be responsible for the financial analysis and financial management of multiple business units within IQVIA, globally. As well as maintaining month end processes and reporting, responsibilities will extend to playing an active role in the forecasting and budget as well as ad-hoc business analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of and delivery of month end processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide support for department heads including business analysis and forecasting
  • Financial, trend, and variance analysis to support decision making and respond to inquiries from corporate and the business
  • Reporting (formal month end summaries/presentations, month-end & quarterly reports, as well as numerous ad hoc reports)
  • Working with operations to understand budgeting needs and forecasting results, including uploading of estimates
  • Analyse Backlog and Net New Business to understand the impact on current and future results
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of internal customer requirements and develop processes that will meet or exceed these requirements
  • Support in managing the P&L for multiple groups
  • Cost analysis to ensure correct and accurate reporting
  • Tracking and approving headcount to ensure alignment with financial performance and business strategy.
  • Lead monthly operational performance review calls with department heads and their leadership teams
  • Accounting support, as necessary on technical issues
  • Prepare and distribute management reporting information to finance and operational groups.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of the forecasting and budgeting process for certain operational groups.
  • Assist in working with various operational groups in analysing and interpreting financial results providing the means to effectively manage the business.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial accounting procedures and policies relevant to the scope of this role.
  • Playing an active role in support of ad-hoc financial analysis and activities designed to help the business maximise its competitive position.
  • Ensure all financial and accounting records are thoroughly maintained and complete in preparation for independent audits.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Qualified with 2-4 years PQE.
  • CRO / Pharma experience of working with global operational groups preferable
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to new technologies and processes in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Highly self motivated, commercially focussed with a desire to help drive the business forward.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, including senior management.
  • Knowledge of finance modules of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as PeopleSoft & Hyperion.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Technical accounting skills.
  • Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ experience in accounting; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
