The Business Analyst II (BA2)  will develop requirements on the Virtual Trials Program.   The role requires collaborating cross-functionally with clinical stakeholders, technology teams, offshore resources and third party vendors. The BA2 should have experience working with end users, developers, and other analysts to refine identified business needs through design reviews and elicitation sessions using a variety of proven techniques.  The BA2 will effectively work with Business Stakeholders, producing high quality assets and requirements, and working with IT Counterparts.


The BA2 position will analyze, document, and manage business requirements throughout the life of the project. The BA2 will ensure that scope is elaborated, and traced, from business objectives, to business requirements, to stakeholder requirements, functional requirements, non-functional requirements. The BA2 will also support and review downstream designs and tests to ensure the project has clear trace-ability and meets the validation criteria in our regulated industry. 

Fulfilling these key roles in our organization requires a strong business acumen, combined with a broad knowledge of technology capabilities, and the ability to understand, influence, and prioritize customer needs.


  • Plan for and deliver requirements management tasks across the SDLC life-cycle.
  • Plan for and manage BA delivery performance.
  • Leverage process modeling to clarify business requirements and to enhance internal business processes.
  • Produce wire-frames or mock-ups to confirm and elaborate requirements.
  • Leverage data modeling to identify business entities, definitions, relationships and other supporting details to clarify business requirements.
  • Engage delivery teams to define their BA deliverable expectations. Leverage frequent feedback to verify the BA deliverables and to keep delivery teams informed.
  • Deliver BA services in accordance with IQVIA standards, SOPs and procedures to ensure IQVIA's regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboratively review and transition requirements throughout the SDLC life-cycle. 
  • Analyze stakeholders and select appropriate techniques to optimize stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences.

  • Ability to select appropriate industry practices and techniques to optimize requirements management.
  • Ability to apply creative, design and systems thinking.
  • Ability to apply multiple modeling syntaxes to optimize requirements management
  • Ability to deliver BA processes that meet validation and regulatory compliance. 
  • Ability to demonstrate good writing and editing skills in the creation of a variety of solution delivery documents.
  • Ability to deliver BA practices across the SDLC life-cycle to optimize solution delivery.
  • Ability to perform as a member of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
  • Ability to apply comprehensive clinical research business knowledge.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree, and have a minimum of 3-5 years of business experience, working towards or holding applicable industry accreditation or certification; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Has comprehensive clinical research business knowledge.
