Job Description

Business Development Manager, Germany

Provides the key client relationship to a major client or clients through relationships with senior executives and strategic leaders in the client organization. Grows revenue by leveraging the full IQVIA portfolio and identifying new business opportunities. Co-ordinates sales, business & service lines at a global, regional and country level to ensure effective execution against client needs and IQVIA revenue targets.


Key Responsibilities

Manages and coordinates IQVIA sales, consulting, service and business line activity to ensure that client needs are met by following an account plan to achieve IQVIA budget and client satisfaction targets. Secures renewal contracts and develops a tactical and strategic understanding of the client’s business issues.  Understands the key priorities of the client and the effective communication of their business issues internally within IQVIA. Translates these to fit to the solutions approach in IQVIA and make recommendations at a global level regarding the internal approach required.


Understands the client and corporate needs at a global, regional, and country level and manages multiple priorities and complex relationships. Develops strategy for expanding scope of existing contracts and identifying new business opportunities. Takes a proactive role in contract strategy. Influences the activities of the country sales teams to achieve/exceed the assigned revenue growth for their client organization. Manages the overall relationship to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.


Provides leadership to country sales team(s) and other sales specialists. Also takes a leadership role in their activities with other internal groups, i.e. business lines, & service lines. Actively promotes the full IQVIA portfolio of products and services to anticipate and meet client needs. Translates the strategy of the client and Medical Device industry and make recommendations regarding the strategic direction of the IQVIA offering. Regarded as a recognized and valued partner by the client.


Develops strategy for expanding scope of existing contracts and identifies new business and win back opportunities

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Essential

  • Relevant sales or account management experience
  • Solid knowledge of IQVIA offerings
  • Client account management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to interpret and present complex concepts
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office, to deliver professional client communications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and internet/phone presentations.
  • Good telephone manner
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Desirable

  • Knowledge of IQVIA information solutions/consulting services portfolio, and the Medical Device industry
  • Solution sales management experience
