Job Description

The Business Analyst plays a key role in structuring and translating product and business concepts into the appropriate level of detail for consumption by technical and application architects, and developers. Aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives.


The Business Analyst works closely with Product Owner, the Project Manager and their counterparts in IT to align technical solutions with business needs. In addition, the Business Analyst works through others in the organization as required soliciting requirements and input in support of new offering development.


RESPONSBILITIES:

All projects occur in a cross-functional Agile Scrum team setting.  Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the analysis of customer User Requirements and Processes
  • Lead the identification and modeling of User/ Business Information Needs
  • Current-state Business Process Analysis activities, including process modeling and the identification of key problems, product opportunities, and process improvement opportunities
  • Future-state Business Process Design activities, including process modeling for cross-functional operational process flows
  • Development of Product Release Plans that identify product software development and process improvement efforts over time
  • Work with Lead technical and Application Architects to integrate the User Experience Design and Conceptual User Frameworks with the User Interface Design
  • Contribute to conceptual application Prototype activities
  • Facilitate cross-functional work-sessions and conduct user interviews to achieve consensus on Functional Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess working knowledge and experience with Business Process Analysis and Design, and Business Information Needs Modeling practices and procedure. 
  • Experience in a Health Care payer or delivery setting is a strong plus.
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years of IT-related experience with a minimum of 3 years business systems analyst role.  Experience in accelerated development (AGILE or other) is also a strong plus.  Demonstrated experience utilizing formal process engineering methods to deliver information service and/or software application.

  • Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and practices
  • Strong Process Modeling and Facilitation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to comprehend new concepts
