Purpose

Want to build out our AWS cloud infrastructure with a fast-growing, dynamic company? BioFortis may be the place for you! We’re looking for a creative engineer who knows their way around AWS services, likes to work in all levels of the AWS cloud stack, and will work helping to serve our customers.

At BioFortis, you will play an integral role in design and implementation of our AWS Cloud infrastructure. You will also play a key part in deploying and maintaining our in-house developed enterprise applications on AWS. As a Cloud Engineer you will also evaluate and perform proof-of-concepts of new AWS services and technologies.

As we are an Enterprise-level customer of AWS, you will have direct access to Amazon engineers for assistance with design, implementation and troubleshooting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and processes to enable automated deployment and monitoring of cloud services and applications.
  • Manage enterprise cloud applications and services.
  • Manage infrastructure services in production environment to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Design and build cloud architecture incorporating security, resilience and high-availability.
  • Support in-house development team with CI/CD pipeline needs.
  • Design and implement monitoring solutions.
  • Produce Infrastructure-as-Code artifacts.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of Cloud Computing Technologies and emerging trends with demonstrable experience on the AWS platform and associated services.
  • Broad experience in building out VPCs, subnets and network routing on AWS.
  • Proficient in developing scripts (for use with Lambda and containers, for example).
  • Proficient with databases administration (such as RDS and SQL Server) and data replication strategies.
  • Experience with deploying and managing enterprise applications and/or service in a Cloud environment.
  • Expertise with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, ELB, ALB, RDS, CloudFormation and Lambda.
  • Strong ability to learn new AWS services and technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git and Docker. Puppet is a plus.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
  • AWS:  2 years
  • Docker: 1 year
  • Server administration (Windows/Linux): 2 years
  • Hands-on experience writing and deploying AWS Lambda functions.
