PURPOSE:

The Vendor Management lead for Connected Devices will be responsible for identification, negotiation, onboarding and management of Connected Devices vendors including medical device manufactures and software platform vendors along with strategy planning for Connected Devices device management and global logistics

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identification of key vendors aligned to Connected Devices strategy
  • Initial contact and relationship building, initiate contract and rate negotiations
  • Onboarding vendor(s) & integration to IQVIA portfolio
  • Management of high volume of small vendors
  • High-level invoice tracking & escalation point for invoice issues
  • Governance management, including KPI tracking and escalation management: Develop and advance actionable metrics and risk management systems to manage vendors 
  • Training wider Connected Devices team on key vendor management principals and inventory management of devices
  • Set up and oversight of Inventory management plan and strategy to manage logistics vendors. Inventory & logistics awareness and strategic oversight of the team
  • Support continuous improvement in company Key Core Processes through the timely provision of analysis of process gaps and efficiencies
  • Develop standardized vendor management strategies, reports, scorecards and other analytics that allow CD business to be valued as key partners by customers for their Innovations and wearable technology needs 
  • Leverage time- and resource-allocation data to assist in resource and process optimization within the CD organization.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to improve quality as well as support clients with sound vendor management support
  • Communication with clients as needed
  • Oversee the development of insightful reports for senior leaders
  •  Develop a team of vendor management and Inventory management professionals

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced ability to prioritize and triage
  • Extremely organized
  • Excellent communication, contracting knowledge and diplomacy
  • Sound finance background
  • Clinical Trial/Medical Data Device industry knowledge preferred
  • Data-driven decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively, collaboratively, and effectively at all levels across functions as well as with external customers 
  • Able to consistently present information in a clear, compelling, and understandable format, tailoring presentations to the context and audience

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, life sciences or a similar field
  • 6-8 year’s - experience in either vendor management, finance, contracts management, strategic sourcing
  • Demonstrated experience in designing vendor management strategies and driving implementation plans with vendors
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to negotiate contracts, create governance structure and utilize analytics to make data-driven decisions Understanding of GCP, ICH, and quality and compliance requirements of major regulatory agencies (FDA, EMA, PMDA) is preferred
  • Experience with operational excellence methods such as Lean Six Sigma and other process-improvement/ optimization methods highly preferred
