BASIC FUNCTIONS:

This position will be instrumental to the successful growth and development of IQVIA Biotech’s Medical Device Business Unit and strategic delivery model.  Predominantly serving as a “Win Optimizer” with focus on securing new business and acquiring repeat business.  Specific functions include sales planning, sales process/team training and support, partnering, internal process enhancement, coordination with marketing planning, and market program execution. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with BD and VP, MD&D (or designee) to develop market and delivery strategy to enable MD&D to achieve its near- and long-term revenue and profitability goals.
  • Supports IQVIA Biotech’s global sales team and processes with training, messaging, content development, and strategic planning towards achievement of above.
  • Guides efforts primary to clients within the medical device and diagnostic sales cycle with particular focus on initial positioning with potential clients and strategic participation throughout the proposal and bid defense process.  Ultimate goal is optimization of IQVIA Biotech’s ability to capture new business and alignment with internal capabilities to assure quality delivery and repeat business.
  • Actively participates in efforts to develop relationships with senior level decision makers at targeted MD&D accounts. 
  • Develops strong working relationships with key members of the IQVIA Biotech operational management team, especially leadership within MD&D, to ensure Sales and Operational goals are aligned. 
  • Suggests operational, strategic bidding, process improvements to the leaders of MD&D and beyond to align with the needs of potential clients, particularly around ways to differentiate the medical device business, with the goal of promoting the medical device business unit sales messaging.
  • Works with Proposals/Contracts and MD&D leadership to develop budgeting norms for dynamic medical device specific bid algorithms.
  • Coordinates with the EVPBD, VP, MD&D and Director of Marketing to develop a Biotech marketing plan that augments business development efforts.
  • Actively involved with industry events to gather intelligence and enhance the public perception and market penetration of the medical device sales message.
  • Serves as an active member of the senior management team including serving as an internal advocate for our clients.
  • Develop growth and organizational development strategies, including 3rd party partnerships, both organic and inorganic, in conjunction with the Executive Management/MD&D leadership teams.
  • Takes ownership of medical device specific account development activity for agreed strategic accounts. Co-develops relationship with primary BD account owner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated expertise in sales and strategic delivery of clinical services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic regulatory, market access and health economic parameters
  • Demonstrated expertise of the medical device, diagnostic clinical research services and biotechnology industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise of the medical device lifecycle within the USA, European Union, and Asia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in branding, marketing, and strategic targeting of a medical device delivery message.
  • Ability to set sales and operational strategy based on IQVIA Biotech’s company goals and market dynamics and translate that strategy into action through effective planning and process/team support.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business development and project execution
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, showing personal initiative and resourcefulness to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships.
  • Strong relationship development, communications, presentation, and negotiations skills.
  • Excellent judgment in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team-based work environment.
  • Strong technical and computer skills to support data customization.
